We came mainly to see Monet but ended up enjoying the rest of the collection as well. I actually liked that the Orangerie is smaller than many of the big Paris museums. It felt manageable and we could take our time instead of rushing from room to room.
Really enjoyed our visit here. Seeing the Water Lilies in those large oval rooms is completely different from seeing them in books or online. The atmosphere was lovely, and there was more to explore downstairs than we expected. One of the museums I’d happily visit again.
Always exciting to see Monet again and for me the highlight is the Modiglianis. Signage is so wonderful.
The museum is really very interesting. One downside: the behavior of the visitors, particularly at the Water Lilies. An unbearable and uninterrupted din despite the guards calling for order. The frescoes were barely visible; visitors literally press themselves against the paintings and take photos of themselves non-stop. I was asked to move aside so they could pose for photos. It is a lawless zone. Where is the art in all this chaos? It looks more like a photo studio than an art museum. It is scandalous, the way they appropriate the paintings to the detriment of the art lover or the respectful visitor. The artists must be turning in their graves. Very bad experience.. Do something!
We really enjoyed our visit to Musée de l'Orangerie. The Monet rooms were stunning and the atmosphere was very peaceful. It was nice to take our time and appreciate the artwork without feeling overwhelmed. Highly recommended.
The Orangerie is a beautiful museum and definitely worth seeing while in Paris. I especially loved the large Monet Water Lilies paintings. The museum is compact, well organized and easy to explore. A very memorable experience.
We had a great time at the Musée de l'Orangerie. It was much more intimate than some of the bigger Paris museums, which made the visit feel calm and enjoyable. The Monet collection alone is worth the trip.
Absolutely loved this museum! The Water Lilies were even more impressive than I expected and the presentation of the paintings was beautiful. The museum is conveniently located near Place de la Concorde, so it was easy to include in our day around central Paris.
A lovely museum and a great change of pace from some of the larger museums in Paris. The Water Lilies were the highlight for me, but I also enjoyed the other paintings in the collection. We spent around an hour here and really enjoyed it.
If you love Monet, you should definitely visit the Orangerie. Seeing the Water Lilies displayed across the curved walls was such a special experience. The museum was easy to find and the whole visit was very relaxing.
