La prima tappa del Muscat City Tour è la Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, uno straordinario capolavoro architettonico con un'enorme sala di preghiera, mosaici intricati e il secondo tappeto tessuto a mano più grande al mondo. Aperta ai non musulmani durante le ore del mattino, offre un ambiente tranquillo ai visitatori che vogliono esplorare il patrimonio islamico dell'Oman. È possibile visitare la moschea dall'interno al mattino, tranne il venerdì. È necessario rispettare il dress code (pantaloni lunghi, camicia che copra il braccio e un foulard per le donne).
Dalla moschea, prosegui per la parte vecchia della città di Muscat: il Muttrah Souq, un mercato tradizionale dell'Oman. Il Souq offre una vasta gamma di prodotti, in particolare souvenir tipici dell'Oman come l'incenso, l'Omani Dagger o Khanjer e splendidi oggetti di artigianato per solutori e "Scialli di Pashmina".
Questa è la corniche più grande dell'Oman ed è un sito turistico molto popolare, con Mutrah Souq, è un pittoresco lungomare a Muscat, che offre viste mozzafiato sul porto e sulle montagne circostanti. Passeggia e ammira la bellezza naturale dei dintorni.

Il Museo Nazionale è un museo all'avanguardia aperto nel 2016. È un museo completo sulla storia, la cultura e la cultura tangibile e immateriale dell'Oman. Il museo è magistralmente curato con una collezione di vere antichità dell'Oman, nonché modelli personalizzati di castelli e monumenti significativi.
Nel cuore dell'antica Muscat, si trova Al Alam Palace (tradotto come palazzo della bandiera), è la più importante di tutte le residenze reali del Sultano. Il forte di Jalali, costruito dai portoghesi, si trova sul lato opposto del porto. Non è accessibile al pubblico. Puoi vederlo dall'esterno come una sosta fotografica.
Qurum Beach Corniche a Muscat è un famoso luogo costiero con una lunga spiaggia sabbiosa e una passeggiata panoramica. È l'ideale per tranquille passeggiate, picnic e per godersi la vista serena del Mar Arabico.

We are group of 8 People traveling Muscat. We were 4 in each car. The guide was in one car and we transitioned back and forth. The guide was very knowledgeable and curtious He knew his history. I would recommend this trip and especially the Mosque which was magnificent.

Knowing we would be in Muscat on a Friday, I was reluctant to book a tour as in Muslim countries usually everything is closed. So I went on the live chat to inquire and was reassured that the tour would proceed and everything would be as normal. Of course, when the guide collected us and started driving us around, the only thing open was the Souk for shopping ( which we were not interested in doing ). He drove us around for about 2 hours pointing out a few landmarks and museums, all of which were closed, and we were back at the hotel after approximately 2 hours. We paid over $400 for this tour. A complete rip off. I have written to the tour operator for a refund. I doubt this will be forthcoming.
I am sorry about you not liking the trip. With due respect, there are few things that needs to be corrected in the review above. First one is that there was no earlier communication with us regarding the Friday on live chat. May be it was with Tripadvisor itself. Friday being an off day here, many things are closed. We have closed the booking for this trip on Friday, so that the other days people can see all the places. Secondly, the guide tried his best to show you Muscat. Since it was hot, no one from your side was interested to come out of the car and see the sight. If no one comes out of the car and see the sight, it would be like a road trip with just pointing out the sights and finish earlier.
Khalifa (+968 9923 2645) was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. Not just in Oman but elsewhere. Punctual. knowledgeable, experienced, informative, excellent English, extremely hospitable and a very safe and considerate driver- everything a guide should be. We have been to Muscat many times, but this time we decided to have a guided tour and it was well worth every Rial, for the insights and service we received. We went to the Sultan Kaboos Mosque, the fish Market. Mutrah Souk in the old city, the Royal Palace, the Parliament, the Opera House, a traditional Omani sweet store, lookout in the mountains and the beach. And then the piece de résistance, he hosted us for a sensational Omani lunch at his place.
