Etna e fiume Alcantara: tour di un giorno intero da Catania

We had an amazing day exploring Etna and the Alcantara Gorge. On our way up to Etna from Catania, our guide Alessio brought us to try some local Sicilian flavors such as wine, olive oil, honey and some baked goods. It was great start to the day! From there, Alessio took care us like family. He was very knowledgeable about the volcano as well as the local history and customs of the area and answered all of our questions. He truly is a pro and an all around great guy. Hopefully you’ll get Alessio as your guide too! I highly recommend this experience for you and your family. 10 out of 10!

We booked a tour with EtnaTribe that included Mount Etna, a tasting of regional specialties, and the Alcantara Gorges – and we can wholeheartedly recommend this experience. It was an amazing experience. Our guide Flavio was really friendly and made sure we enjoyed from the begining to the end. Etna views and the whole Gole dell Alcantara were beautiful and the Flavios explanation about the vulcano and the city were top notch. He tailored the explanation to our areas of interest. Really recommend this tour.

Had a great tour guide in Favio who made the day so much more enjoyable. Mount Etna was a different and enjoyable experience. I would like to have had the time to do a longer hike further up the mountain, The second part of the tour at Alicantara Rriver Gorge was really something to see. The rock formation within the gorge caused by volcanic eruptions is amazing, the water is crystal clear but very cold. Definately worth the 236 steps! Great day, just would have liked perhaps another hour at Mount Etna.

Thomas gave the most enjoyable and informative tour. Very conscious of everyone's needs. While hiking the volcano he knew all the alternate trails to the craters to avoid steep climbs. Took a few side excursions to see the Alcantara River from different perspectives. Highly recommend this and other etnaTribe tours - very professional.

I recommend this tour with Etnatribe thousands of times. As a family, we sincerely believe that our experience would not have been the same if we had left on our own. We left with an absolutely perfect Francophone guide (Edouardo) who introduced us to his passion for the region and his knowledge of Etna. Thanks to him, we got a skip-the-line ticket to the cable car but we were able to discover widely what we needed at 2500 m - 2600 m, without the need to take the 4x4 to climb higher. The day continued with the passage by an old lava tube and then to the beautiful Alcantara Gorge, provided you agree to set foot in frozen water. I hesitated a long time before paying this tour and I really have no regrets. Thank you so much, Etnatribe!

What an amazing day! Climbing Mt Etna was incredible and our tour guide Florence was so knowledgeable - telling us about the different eruptions and craters along the way up. We then had a wine and food tasting which was excellent, had time to have some lunch before heading to a lava cave tour, and then we ended the day going to Taormina to the Alicantara gorge. A full day of exploring, it was such a great experience. I could not recommend Florence, our tour guide for the day, enough. She was a star - she was so friendly and kind, and really got to know us throughout the day. She went over and beyond and we can’t thank her enough 😊

Stefano was the perfect host. Polite, funny and extremely knowledgeable of the volcano and its surrounding ecosystem. My 14 year old daughter and I would absolutely recommend this tour.
