Itinerario

Our guide Chris was excellent. He imparted a lot of local knowledge. We saw some lovely villages and countryside around York. A very enjoyable day out.
This was SUPER! The trip is well thought out with good stops for seeing the countryside and having some nice walks. (It is nice to get out of the cities.) Our guide, Mark is about the nicest guy you want driving and relaying different layers of local history, he is an absolute asset to BOB tours. Bus was nice, company was great and again the different visits were really pleasant.
Must do if you’re staying in York. This is an opportunity to travel through areas you can’t see without a car. Our driver was very knowledgeable and thoughtful.
Great overview of the area. Very interesting and informative guide. Very well organized and detail oriented for your best experience.
We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Mark! He was knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly passionate about the history and stories behind every stop. He made the experience both informative and entertaining, and his enthusiasm kept everyone interested from beginning to end. The tour was well organized, the pace was perfect, and we learned so many fascinating details that we would never have discovered on our own. Mark was also very friendly, happy to answer questions, and made everyone feel welcome. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Mark, for such a memorable experience!

It was a great trip! We were very comfortable with Vince as a guide. Wonderful views over the moors, a nice visit to Whitby, and good restaurant recommendations! And a memorable railroad ride to Goathland / Aidensield in the end.
Thank you very much, Triin, for taking the time to leave a review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors, your visit to Whitby, and the memorable journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to Goathland, famous as Aidensfield in Heartbeat. We did notice that you mentioned Vince as your guide. We believe you may have accidentally mixed us up with another tour operator, as none of our driver-guides are called Vince. We completely understand how easy it is to do after a busy trip, but if this review was intended for another company, you may wish to update it so they receive the recognition they deserve. If, however, you travelled with Best of Britain – Yorkshire Day Tours, we are very grateful that you chose to spend the day with us and hope to welcome you back to Yorkshire again in the future. Kind regards, Lucy Best of Britain – Yorkshire Day Tours

90th Birthday present. Even though we were late for the 9.30 departure, we caught the train due to the prompt action of the car park man who contacted the engine driver. We rushed over the bridge, not easy at my age, waved apologies to the passengers and boarded with a friendly greeting from the platform staff. We’re on our way, clickety click went the wheels, through the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire. This was an unforgettable experience of rail travel from a bygone era. I must congratulate all the voluntary staff for their courtesy and appreciate their care and attention. This was a day to remember and a perfect birthday present.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and happy belated 90th birthday! It sounds as though you had a wonderful journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and we are delighted to hear the volunteers and railway staff helped make it such a memorable occasion. We just wonder whether this review may have been intended for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, rather than Best of Britain – Yorkshire Day Tours, as it appears to describe your railway experience rather than our guided day tour. If so, the wonderful team at the railway would no doubt be delighted to receive your kind words. With best wishes, Lucy Best of Britain – Yorkshire Day Tours
