I visited the Pantheon on August 12, 2026, and it was an incredible experience. The magnificent dome, oculus and beautifully preserved interior make it one of the most impressive historic places to experience in Rome.
The Pantheon is one of the most extraordinary places I visited in Rome. Its magnificent dome, elegant columns, and the famous oculus create an atmosphere that is both peaceful and awe-inspiring. The way natural light enters through the oculus makes the interior feel alive and unforgettable. As a writer and traveler, I was deeply moved by the history and architectural brilliance of this ancient monument. It is remarkable that a structure built nearly two thousand years ago remains so perfectly preserved. I recommend taking a few moments to sit quietly inside and appreciate its beauty and history. The Pantheon is not just a landmark—it is an experience that stays with you long after you leave. A must-visit destination in Rome.

My brother and I booked the Temple of Neptune + Pantheon tour, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our visit to Rome. We visited on the 20th of April. The highlight of the tour was the exclusive access to the Pantheon's basement level, an area not typically open to regular visitors. We had the unique opportunity to see construction details, original building materials, ancient tiles, and various archaeological artifacts that help tell the story of this remarkable structure. Walking between the inner and outer walls of the Pantheon provided an entirely new perspective on the engineering genius behind one of the world's most iconic buildings. What made the experience even more special was that my brother and I were the only two visitors in our time slot. Our guide, an archaeologist from Budapest, was exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. She explained the history of the Pantheon in great detail, discussed its architectural evolution, and described the ongoing preservation efforts. Her insights transformed the visit from a simple tour into an engaging lesson in Roman history and engineering. We also visited a small chapel that houses the original wooden figurine of the Virgin Mary, a fascinating and unexpected part of the tour that added another layer of historical and religious significance to the experience. After exploring the underground areas, we were led into the Pantheon itself, where we could fully appreciate the grandeur of the structure with a deeper understanding of its construction and history. Seeing the famous dome and oculus after learning about the building techniques and materials used nearly two thousand years ago was truly awe-inspiring. For anyone visiting Rome, I highly recommend this tour. While the Pantheon is impressive on its own, the opportunity to explore areas normally closed to the public and learn from an expert archaeologist makes this experience exceptional. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our time in Rome.
I had of course heard about the Pantheon many times, but I was still surprised by how impressive the interior is. From the outside, the building appears somewhat reserved, but once you enter, you understand why it has been admired for almost 2000 years. I found the dome and the light that falls through the opening in the center particularly fascinating. Although there were many visitors, the place had an astonishingly calm atmosphere. One of my favorite places in Rome.
The world's oldest monument in best conservation state, features the largest unarmed concrete dome in the world. Impressive for the dimensions, the decoration of its interior and the state of conservation of the entire architectural ensemble taking into account its construction age.
An hour and a half of waiting, tedious computer registration with the name of each visitor, email address... Ridiculous, no usefulness other than making us waste time, inside the works are absolutely not highlighted, it is very dark, no inscriptions to describe the paintings, no artist names, very poorly lit. I do not recommend this visit
No line and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and respectful.
