Le Cascate di Damajagua, note anche come le 27 Cascate di Damajagua, sono una serie di cascate naturali e piscine situate nella parte settentrionale della Repubblica Dominicana, vicino a Puerto Plata. I visitatori possono fare escursioni nella giungla, saltare, scivolare e nuotare attraverso queste cascate, rendendolo un luogo popolare per il turismo d'avventura e l'ecoturismo. Il nome “Damajagua” si riferisce al fiume che alimenta le cascate.
Visiterai la Monkey Home dove potrai nutrire le scimmie con frutta. Goditi un viaggio senza intoppi fino a Moneky Home e goditi un viaggio con autisti speciali che parlano inglese. Tieni d'occhio la fauna selvatica, come le scimmie scoiattolo, mentre vai. Poi, fermati e con la supervisione del personale, metti fuori un piatto di frutta per far venire le scimmie da te.

It is a 45 minute trail hike up mountain. Not easy. I would suggest you wear water shoes for this. Do not try this if you are older or cannot walk at least a mile up an uphill trail in the heat and humidity. Need waterproof bag for electronics. You WILL get submerged. Everything you own will get soaked. Do not take a hate or sunglasses. Some of the waterfalls have about a 10 to 15 foot jump off a cliff. You dive into the bottom pool and you will be completely submerged. You will also have to swim but you do have life jackets on. One of the best excursions we have been on. 12 and 14 year old did great. The 1st stop is the monkeys. You will thoroughly enjoy this as the monkeys are super sweet. Then you go to the waterfalls afterwards. A locker is included so do take everything with you and place in locked. Women, do not just wear a bikini. Wear shorts over the bikini. You will be sliding down smooth rock slides into the water. But overall I would do it again.

Awesome experience! Would highly recommend! My husband, daughter and I were cruising and booked this thru TripAdvisor and so glad we did! The communication with Leury was great! He text the morning of introducing himself and we met him at Taino Bay just a short walk from the port. He played great music in his nice clean air condition taxi! We went to the waterfalls first he walked us in and helped us to navigate what we were to do! Picked us up and next stop was to monkey land! He stayed with us watched the time to make sure we got back to the ship on time! The entire experience was really great and would definitely book again!

Be prepared to hike up steep stairs to get to the waterfall. You will need water shoes! But great excursion

The men doing our tour in the monkey cage was amazing Exspecially the one who worked at sea world before he came to you was amazing . But both were great. And our tour guide was also very sweet and informative

The monkeys were cute but shy. Didn't need the rest of our first stop, but it was ok. Loved the waterfalls and the choice to jump or slide! It was a hike to make it to the top (gradual incline) but aged 7-70 we all made it no problem. Crowded initially but once we got to the first falls/jump it moved along greatly! Fun was had by all. Note:younger or less adventurous may struggle a little but the guides are an amazing and comforing help when needed! We'd certainly go again!

Like many animals, they can become a little more reserved when there are sudden loud noises or unexpected reactions around them. We took our three youngest kids...8, 14, and 16. The guides were so helpful with our 8yr old who was a little scared. But she made it through! The guides were all welcoming and friendly! We had so much fun sliding and jumping. Seeing the monkeys was a beautiful experience. Our whole family loved it! Highly recommend!!!

This experience was absolutely incredible, worth every penny! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we both agreed that this was one of the best excerions we paid for. We were on a cruise and there were absolutely no issues getting back to the ship on time, practically everyone else on the tour was also from one of the ships docked that day. Our driver Aribel was so welcoming and cool. We appreciated the hospitality they showed all of us tourists, even calling us "family" all day. The hike was easy, about 45 minutes (or as they say, 5 Dominican minutes haha), they take you at a slow pace for anyone in decent shape. Prepare to sweat though, it is humid!!! They give you a water for the hike up, sip it as you go. And you'll definetly want closed toed water shoes / hiking shoes. They provide some for about $3 if you need them. You'll be hiking, and then walking/swimming through a canyon with water anywhere from ankle deep, thigh, waist, and then fully swimming. It is rocky, hence the closed toed shoes. Our guide payed for a locker for all of us, you DO NOT want to carry even a backpack, it would be really annoying during the swimming portions and even more so for the natual waterslides. Whatever you bring with you WILL get wet. We also paid for the photograaphy they offer, which is 1000% worth it! $55 for a personal photographer aka a friend and tour guide who walks with you, poses you, teaches you some stuff about the Dominican Republic, and makes sure to capture all the fun unforgettable moments. We had Hector with us, and he was the best! He made us laugh, took amazing photos and videos, and made our experience even better. Thank you Hector! When you're done with the waterfalls, they give you a USB drive with all the images loaded onto it. Then the monkey interactions, omg we were in love. They were so cute and the keeper was very knowledgeable. The monkeys were called squirrel monkeys and were 2-6 years old. So soft and light, they would jump onto your lap and shouders to eat fruit and seeds out of your palm. They made sure we got great photos by even luring them up onto our heads with a snack. Absoutely amazing! If you are having any second thoughts about booking this, let this review be your answer. Do it, you won't regret it!

Amazing experience!! Really enjoyed the waterfall hike. My boyfriend lost his classes at the bottom of the drop and the tour guide dived to find it! The dedication. The monkeys were adorable 🥹 and friendly
