Le Cascate di Damajagua, note anche come le 27 Cascate di Damajagua, sono una serie di cascate naturali e piscine situate nella parte settentrionale della Repubblica Dominicana, vicino a Puerto Plata. I visitatori possono fare escursioni nella giungla, saltare, scivolare e nuotare attraverso queste cascate, rendendolo un luogo popolare per il turismo d'avventura e l'ecoturismo. Il nome “Damajagua” si riferisce al fiume che alimenta le cascate.
Visiterai la Monkey Home dove potrai nutrire le scimmie con frutta. Goditi un viaggio senza intoppi fino a Moneky Home e goditi un viaggio con autisti speciali che parlano inglese. Tieni d'occhio la fauna selvatica, come le scimmie scoiattolo, mentre vai. Poi, fermati e con la supervisione del personale, metti fuori un piatto di frutta per far venire le scimmie da te.

Excellent place to spend a few days of rest and beach, visit the historic center and other places of interest

This excursion was incredible!!! Family and I had so much fun. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an adventure. Aribel and Yeury were great with communication. Starting with Damajua falls I would recommend water shoes because you will be walking 45 mins up a mountain and there will be slippery spots. You will have 2 breaks during the course of your hike. But it will all be worth it when you slide down those cool waterfalls. You have option to hire a photographer for about $55. Our photographer (Rainer) was wonderful, he took so many pictures during the course of our hike. We received a combination of 45 photos/videos on a USB card. Our next stop was Monkey village. The workers were very informative and organized with handling of the monkey's. You get to feed and interact with squirrel monkeys. They were so stinking cute!!! You have option to purchase photos as well....which we did. They were emailed to me within minutes of trip. Both of these experiences were amazing so glad I had opportunity to participate. DEFINITELY DO THIS.....YOU WON'T BE SORRY.

We had so much fun on this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun activity in Puerto Plata. Aribel was very friendly and made sure that we all had a great time. 10/10, would recommend and we would book this tour again if we come to Puerto Plata again.

This was our favorite excursion my daughters and I have ever done! Yeury was an amazing driver and guide for the island. The monkey encounter was so cool and the staff was so nice! Berto was an amazing guide for the waterfalls. I would do this excursion over and over again!

Great guides and photo guides offer because you must have a waterproof camera .. which we did not .. it’s a steep strenuous uphill to the water falls so be aware of that .. but its so beautiful looks like the jungle in a King Kong movie ! The slides are dicey along with the cliff jumps. I think the jumps were 18 and 22 feet but they have chicken ladders if you choose and natural rock slides Very worthwhile excursion we loved it 😍 Monkey land was fun and had lots of playful monkeys and opportunities for photos. This is part of the trip was more of a sanctuary to protect and interact with animals. The butterfly and love bird sanctuary is wonderful too! It’s locally and tourist sponsored it is not Government Funded so be sure and tip or donate if you can! Taste the Dominican wine with rum and honey and the chocolate and. Cocoa is delicious. They have a nice gift shop inside. I bought a cute fun purse made out of coconut skin. The Amber Cove Port takes good care of the visitors . There are ATM that convert dollars to pesos. Also Service and smiles from van and taxi driver and they are very helpful! They love the ships coming in!

We went on this excursion when we visited Puerto Plata on our cruise stop. Highly recommend! The waterfalls were so much fun. Because they advise you to leave your phone, they have photographers that will follow you and your family, taking pictures and videos of you sliding down the falls for $50 (we tipped too). It was awesome to have those memories saved and not having to worry about getting them on our phone. The hike to the waterfall could be intense for some people, but wasn't too bad. The guide was wonderful and communicated well with us. The monkey house was amazing! We loved being able to hold the monkeys and feed them. Highlight of our kiddos day! Definitely recommend this company and this excursion!

We had an incredible time! Communication was excellent from the start. Aribel was on time to meet us and kept the day running smoothly. Directions to get to the meeting point were clear. Aribel was extremely helpful with everything from storing our bags away to helping us get water shoes and everything else. Travelers should know this activity is a little strenuous. 45 min uphill with a bunch of steps so if that’s an issue you might find this a little difficult. Also, we planned this last minute so we didn’t have water shoes and just rented some. Make sure you bring water shoes with a sturdy bottom. You are going to be walking on rocks uphill and downhill. It felt like I was walking on rocks with bare feet for a big part of the downhill hike but this was completely on me since I did not really research before I went. Even with that though we had an incredible experience. If you like adventure you will really enjoy this. Something else to note is you can bring your phone for photos if you have a waterproof case but I would recommend hiring the photographers they have available to follow you. Our photographer was Jadel and he was very nice and captured a ton of photos that we now have as great memories. We also loved the monkeys. They were adorable and I wished I could take one home with me. Not sure if they were kidding but they had two monkeys separate from the others and they told us they were training them to play basketball and go on a zip line so maybe when you visit you will be able to see the monkeys perform.

This was by far my favourite excursion on my trip!! We had a lovely taxi driver named Jairo, he picked us up early in the morning, which gave me and my friend the chance to be the only and very first people to go up into the waterfalls as soon as they opened. Our guide Galvin was friendly and great at taking our pictures and videos, so so appreciative of him!! Visiting and sliding down these waterfalls is a must if you are visiting Puerto Plata it was so much fun, we really enjoyed ourselves. Make sure to have watershoes with you, or shoes you dont mind getting wet. Then Jairo took us to monkeyland where we were once again the only two people there which was working in our favour, I had such a sweet time with these monkeys, they were so playful and friendly i wish i could have taken one home. we also had the lovely chance of entering their butterfly conservatory. Jairo then dropped us off back at the hotel. Overall my absolute favourite excursion. This excursion is a must, you will have a blast!!!
