The full-day tour to Mikumi was absolutely worth it! We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and even lions. The drive from Dar es Salaam was long but scenic, and our guide made the journey enjoyable with great info and local insights. Perfect for anyone short on time but wanting a real safari experience!
Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that your full-day tour to Mikumi National Park was worth the journey and that you were able to spot such incredible wildlife—including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. We’re also glad our guide made the long drive from Dar es Salaam both enjoyable and insightful. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you back for another safari adventure soon—perhaps with more time to explore even further.
As many other reviews state, this is a long day. Our day was 4 am-9:30pm, and it's largely dependent on traffic. What I loved about this tour was the fact we had the same vehicle and guide leaving our hotel in Dar Es Salaam all the way to Mikumi, through the park, and all the way back. Given you leave so early, bring comfort items (pillows!) and catch some sleep on the way there. Michael was our guide, and not only was he an expert and safe driver navigating the Tanzanian traffic and wild tracks, he's knowledgeable and kind. He also had an inverter and universal power strip to charge phones and cameras. A good experience and our wellbeing was always his first priority. Mikumi itself is lovely. If you only have a day (and it needs to be a *full* day), this is the perfect way to get wildlife if you can't get to Serengeti, Arusha, or any of the further flung parks.

Yes, it’s definitely a long day, but we’re glad to hear you found it worthwhile and well-organized from start to finish. Mikumi is a gem for day trips, and we’re happy we could help you experience Tanzania’s beautiful wildlife even on a tight schedule. Wishing you many more amazing adventures ahead, and we hope to welcome you back for a longer safari next time!
The tour was good and I had fun, the way was long but it worth the experience, I was lucky to see couple of animals and in groups, I would like to thank the tour guide he was so kind to answer all my questions and to make this trip really good and enjoyable. He picked me up and stayed all way up and down for 16 hrs. So he deserve the thanking. If you visiting for a day or have tight schedule here then definitely go for that tour it’s nice
Michael was a great driver and guide! He was very knowledgeable about every animal and answered all my questions. As the description indicates it is a VERY long day (about 18 hours) but if you only have one day to do safari this is the way to do it! Nice buffet lunch. Bring snacks, sunscreen, a neck pillow for the car rides, and sunglasses.

The drive around the park. Seeing the animals and the information from the guide. They do their best for us to see all the animals.

First and foremost, the experience was amazing. This was my second safari, my first was done in Kenya. This was a great experience and I would highly suggest it. I had 0 issues with communication and/or the tour guide. The tour guide was beyond helpful and considerate of our needs. I would recommend using this service Unfortunately, we did not see any predators such as lions, etc. People might say we should have left earlier to see the animals. Truth be told, I seen animals in the middle of the day in Nairobi. So time makes little difference. Either the lions are sleeping or hunting, they are somewhere in the park! I feel like the park rangers and those that worked there, should have a pretty good idea of where the lions hang out at... Not seeing any lions was kind of a bummer. Take into consideration, this was a long drive. That, I don't have a problem with. What I will say is, the vehicle was uncomfortable. The vehicle isn't made for long drives. My knees touched the back seat of the seat in front of me. Ok, you might say I am a man I am tall? Well, my girlfriend who's a lot shorter than me said the same thing. I think that they should remove some seats out of the vehicle, when it's only two people going.. All in All, I would personally suggest this service and the company. With that, I would suggest making this a 2 day adventure. Going to the safari and coming back still took about 5 hours each. That's 10 hours. I would have enjoyed the (one day) ride a whole lot better in a more comfortable vehicle. The vehicle alone, made me regret doing this in 1 day. If the vehicle had been more comfortable for the journey, a one day would be fine. They do exist! Thank you for allowing me to use your service. The vehicle was the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Other than that, 5 stars !
Dear David! Thank you very much for taking your time to review us online. Am happy to learn that you had an amazing trip, and the driver did his best to make sure you had an amazing trip. We shall look into the issue of the vehicle. Yes, it's a long drive suitable for clients who has a limited time. Thank you very much and looking forward for future tours with you.
Could not recommend this tour highly enough. We had an amazing local Tanzanian guide who really had great knowledge. He made our trip to Tanzania all worth it, would defintely recommend using this company!

Paul was an excellent driver. He was timely and efficient. He has 17 years experience doing guided safari tours and knows where and when to find animals. We were lucky to have him!
I actually got to witness 2 male elephant fighting; 2 giraffe fight as well. Plenty to see but I didn’t see any big cats. My tour guide was the best and outstanding
