Itinerario
Guide e Jeep ti incontreranno in hotel, poi ti dirigerai al museo Hoa Lo (chiamato come Hanoi Hilton da piloti americani durante la guerra del Vietnam). La prigione di Hoa Lo fu costruita dai francesi e utilizzata durante la guerra dell'Indocina per ospitare i patrioti vietnamiti, e più tardi durante la guerra del Vietnam ospitò piloti americani che furono abbattuti. La piccola parte del complesso che è ancora rimasto è ora un museo con mostre che ti racconterà una parte della storia del Vietnam. La prossima visita è il Museo di storia militare del Vietnam. In questo museo, troverai le mostre previste all'interno dell'edificio sulla lunga storia dell'esercito del Vietnam. All'esterno dell'edificio si trova un'impressionante collezione di rifiuti militari degli ex nemici del Vietnam, alcuni dei francesi ma soprattutto degli americani. Il più sorprendente è una sorta di memoriale assemblato da pezzi di bombardieri abbattuti. We had an amazing tour! Myself, husband and 18 year old son took this tour to discover more about the history of Vietnam. The jeeps were very clean and comfortable and the drivers were excellent. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and givens good advice to bring hat, comfortable shoes and sun cream. We were given bottles of water during the tour and enjoyed a drop off at a cafe for refreshing drinks. Our tour guide Pi, was wonderful. She was able to give us so much information and answer all our questions. This was a really memorable tour and we would highly recommend.
I totally recommend joining this. How often do you get to ride a Russian military jeep around town? Riding in it is itself an awesome experience!! Our guide, Mary, English speaking guide and our driver Uncle Lewis were fantastic! Taking us around the backstreet giving us a sightseeing and information on the way to the Temple of Literature, first stop, and then to the Mausoleum which was closed unfortunately being a Friday. Mary also took us to a residential area with street markets. We got to taste some exotic fruits and of course bought some too. Then my Highlight was the Trainline through the residential and cafes. We were take upstairs to have the best view and were treated some beverages while waiting for the train to pass. It was exhilarating! Next we went to Hidden Gem, name speaks for itself, Hidden. An awesome Cafe you must visit. So beautifully decorated with smart recycling of old bikes, tyres, bottles and mural on the wall. Tasted my first egg coffee which is delicious! Mary is funny, cheeky and makes the tour so much more enjoyable. Totally must do! #hanoibackstreettour
This is a fantastic introduction to Hanoi. Dory is a great guide with lots of local stories and history she provided a great insight into Vietnanese culture. We saw sites we wouldn't have found on our own and sampled delicious local specialties in hidden local places. A must for any first time visitor. Did I mention the surprisingly yummy egg coffee! Thanks Dory you exceeded our expectations.
