The guided tasting in Mexcal with Brenda and Mau was simply spectacular. The atmosphere, explanation and treatment were impeccable, and care was noted in every detail. Not only is mezcal tested, you live an experience that connects with the culture and the senses. I attended this mezcal tasting at Mexcal Bar, inside the Camino Real hotel in Polanco and it was an extraordinary experience. From the beginning, the atmosphere was welcoming thanks to Mauricio Vite, an excellent host who with his team welcomed us with warmth, attention and a lot of good vibe. The tasting was guided by Brenda, who gave us a fascinating explanation about the origin of the mezcals we tried. He taught us to identify fruity notes by smell, as well as explaining the types of agave and the regions from which each came, I learned a lot! The welcome cocktail was quite a surprise: a mezcal margarita with avocado, a creative and delicious combination. At the end of the tasting, we participated in a small workshop to prepare our own cocktail using the mezcal that we liked best. I chose the artisanal mezcal Convite and mixed it with pineapple juice and orange Cointreau... I loved it! All juices, salts and other ingredients were natural and prepared at home, which was noticeable in the quality of the flavor. In short, it was a sensory, educational and fun experience. Highly recommended for those who want to discover the world of mezcal in an authentic and well-guided way.
