Filippo was at the pier gate to meet our group. Unfortunately is was cloudy and raining on our visit to Sicily so a visit to Mount Etna was not possible. Instead Filippo took to to Savocca, Taormina, Castlemola. And at one point the clouds cleared for about half an hour and we got a peek at Mount Etna! It was great! Filippo also surprised us with some fresh baked canoli!!! It was great! On the way back to the ship we mentioned to Filippo the arancini that we ate in Rome and he said that Sicily makes the best arancini and he took us to a place that had great tasting arancini! He also took us to the astronomical clock!! All in all a wonderful day in Messina. Thank you Filippo!
