Maui : Wailele Luau con spettacolo di fuoco e coltello e cena

The wait in line to enter was extremely long for no reason. It said the show started at 5:30 but we didn’t get seated until 5:45. A bunch of dead time nothing going on but background music until 6:30. The show was too spread out for high cost. Been to other luau that were action packed from the start time until the break for the dinner and resumed the action afterwards. This was a very long and drawn out show. I would not recommend.

Email directions stated to arrive at 5:15 for a start time of 5:30. We were lined up and stood in a very warm outdoor hallway until 5:45. We chose Ohana seating which did not give us the upgraded seating or two additional snacks. Our seats were perfectly fine. Although I did need to turn my chair to watch the show. We were sat at a table of 8. We requested some additional pineapple since we were given a small bowl for eight people. We were informed that they ran out. Really???? The drinks were flowing freely. As a non alcoholic drinker I requested a Diet Coke. When the server brought it. It was clearly very flat. She brought me a can, but said there were no more. After getting my meal I asked about another soda and the bartender said that the management knew for a week that the soda was flat but did nothing about it. This was very disappointing. The buffet was underwhelming. The food was over salted and all tasted the same. Honestly, my highlights were the chicken dish and the ube roll. However, the highlight of the evening was the show. The emcee did an excellent job with telling the story of Hawaiian history, the dancers were wonderful and the fire show was amazing. If you are going for a authentic luau experience you will be disappointed but if you are going for an amazing performance you’ve found your place!

The fire show was really cool once it got to it at the end of the night but the ambiance was like a banquet/community center not everyone had a view of the show, the decor/vibe was very plain, and you couldn’t see the ocean or sunset. The food was a buffet which was cold once it was our turn. They also had a photographer which came to our table to encourage us to take a picture & we thought a picture may be included for the price but it was $30 for 1 photo. I think if this was half the price it’d make more sense but it’s the same price as some really amazing ones I’ve been to.

The show was great, but the food was awesome!! Poki was fresh and alcoholic drinks were flowing. Staff were very friendly and were on point for everything you needed.

What an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious and the show was both fascinating, entertaining, and educational all rolled into one…a “must see”!! A+ rating

Sadly, our experience wasn't great at the luau. We purchased the premium seats as we were returning to the Westin for our anniversary and were excited to have the extra amenities advertised on the website. From the website: Highlights Premium seating will also includes: Early access to the luau A glass of sparkling wine hosted by Valley Alley Local Ohana style snacks at each table Upon our arrival, we were seated at table 13 which was next to a pole making it difficult to see the stage, we did not get early access to the luau, did not receive a glass of sparkling wine, and our table had the same snacks that all the other tables had. Most of the amenities that were advertised to be included with the premium seat extra cost were not provided to us. The food was good okay but be cautious of the chicken. It was the only item that my husband ate and I didn't. During the show, he started feeling queasy, and when we got back to our hotel, he got sick. The show was good, the dancers were very talented. It was different than the luaus that I've seen before, more emphasis on the male performers versus the female dancers. I did reach out to the Westin to inform them of my experience, I never heard back from anyone.

The Luau at the Westin was a great ‘finale’ on our last night on the island. Rich in tradition the luau was fun, mesmerizing, and helped us learn more about the history/culture through the story. The food was very good (especially the pork, the fish, and the short ribs) as was the atmosphere… come hungry! The desserts were good but not great. The event kicks off at 5:30, you start eating at 6:45, and it wraps before 9pm. The finale with the fire is excellent.

It is the best luau in maui. I have been to several here over the last 25 yrs. The show is captivating! The music and dance of the Hawaiian culture is beautiful. The food is diverse. My favorite is the hawaiian macaroni salad. I have been to this luau 3x over the past 10 yrs. Enjoy!🩷
