Itinerario

We had a great experience at Materuni waterfall and Chemka hot springs with Benson! He was very knowledgeable, shared great stories throughout the day, and was overall very friendly and easy to get along with. Would recommend this excursion with Benson to all my friends.
I highly recommend this activity. Attentive driver and guide. Discovering the coffee plantation was a great experience.
What an amazing day! The hike to the waterfall wasn’t too hard. A little incline on the way back but totally doable. It does get slippery so wear sturdy shoes. I booked this through Safari Soles and my guide Innocent was fantastic! I didn’t bring a towel for the hot springs and he made sure to stop by a shop and even negotiated on my behalf to get a low price. He made me feel very comfortable as a solo female traveler. If you are looking to book this I would suggest requesting Innocent as your driver. He knows a lot about the area!
We did the Materuni Waterfall day trip through Safari Soles with Innocent as our guide, and we'd absolutely recommend it. The day included a coffee tour of a local plantation, where we saw the whole process from bean harvesting to roasting to drinking the coffee, plus a great lunch. The hike itself was beautiful, culminating at the waterfall. Innocent was phenomenal as our guide. He's local to Arusha, extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna (he’d make a great safari guide!), knew the trail really well, including the best spots for photos, and where to step to keep your footing and clearly had great relationships with people in the area, making introductions as we went. If you're looking for a fun, well-guided day trip out of Arusha, this is a great option that I can’t recommend enough.
This combined day trip to the Materuni Waterfalls, local coffee farm, and Kikuletwa Hot Springs was the absolute highlight of my time in the Kilimanjaro region. Everything from the smooth organization to the friendly guides made it a seamless and enriching experience. Tour Highlights Materuni Waterfalls Hike: A scenic, lush 45-minute walk through local coffee and banana farms on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The waterfall at the end is massive and breathtaking (and the water is wonderfully refreshing if you are brave enough for a swim)! Interactive Coffee Tour: The local Chagga community members shared an amazing, hands-on coffee demonstration. We sang, danced, roasted, and ground our own beans before enjoying the freshest cup of coffee imaginable. Kikuletwa Hot Springs: Driving out to this crystal-clear, turquoise oasis was the ultimate way to relax after the hike. Floating under the giant fig trees and letting the tiny fish give us a natural pedicure was pure bliss. Tips for Future Travelers: Wear sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes or light hiking boots because the trail to the waterfall can get muddy. Bring a swimsuit and a towel for the hot springs, plus a change of dry clothes. Juneid the driver and guide was professional, punctual, and full of fascinating local knowledge. Highly recommend booking this tour for a perfect mix of adventure and local culture!
It was a great experience with the family we all enjoyed and had fun. Its a long hike and it was very muddy and slippery when we went, but our guid Benson was so amazing and helped us along the path.
Mustafa was wonderful! He told us a lot about sites on the way, he was friendly and he really made it fun for our 12 yo laughing and joking with him and making him included all the time. The itinerary was great but Mustafa really made the day. The hike to the waterfall was perfect, just the right amount of rigor, and we had a lot of fun with the coffee farm people. Again, Mustafa was there at every turn and even carried one of our backpacks uphill. The hot springs were busy and atmosphere very jovial. We weren’t sure what to expect, but the crowd was entertaining. We had a great day in Arusha!
Thank you for your review, We are glad to hear that you guide Mustafa made your trip fun for both you and your son. We hope to welcome you back again!
Aside from the fact that there are still many tourists, the falls remain magnificent to see, the coffee tour is a very nice and friendly immersive experience, and the hot springs are a very pretty place to end the day chill
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad you enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls, the immersive coffee tour, and the relaxing hot springs.
We really had a good experience. Benson our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and a good photographer when we needed him to be.
Thank you for your Review, we are glad to hear that Benson made your trip amazing.
Was such a good jam packed day. The tour organised to pick me up from my hotel (despite it not being on the list) and drop me off also. We started off with the hike to the waterfall which was stunning. We went early am and missed the crowds which was also great. We then stopped at the coffee farm on the way back. The boys there were so fun and was a very well communicated educational experience. With yummy coffee!! And the lunch was delicious. We then drove to the hot springs which were amazing!! Such a beautiful experience. My guide Edwin was the best, he made it such a fun experience and looked after me well. Made sure I had enough food and water. Was overall a great experience.
