Itinerario

Very well run venue, guide are excellent.
Really informative and our guide Melanie had a great sense of humour. Very enjoyable way to learn about the Sabah culture.
We went as a family of 4 with two teens (15&17) and were surprisingly impressed with the mari mari experience. From visiting traditional tribal homes, trying food and drink, watching and taking part (optional) in a performance, henna and then ending with a delish buffet. Our tour guide, Rayneal, was excellent - he was entertaining, friendly, funny and v knowledgeable - excellent member of the team! All the performers and staff were brilliant and we all thoroughly enjoyed it (even the usually unimpressed teens!)
Visiting the village wasn't on our list of things to do as we had heard it was too "touristy " however we ended up going and was not disappointed. Whilst yes it is an artificial experience it is a great way to learn and interactive and the guides are great. We had Van Allen and he really made the day. We booked through trip advisor and the downside would be I tried contacting the providing company numerous times with no response so did get a bit stressed that we weren't even going to get picked up but we did.
The village experience was excellent. The guide knew quite a bit about the history culture and everything was well organized. The village is quite and it’s in a beautiful location. This staff were very friendly.
It sounds like it will be very touristy and a little cheesy but it was great learning about the tribes and their customs while trying different food, drink or blow darts (which sold my husband on this morning activity). A great time spent!
Some of the houses are accessed by uneven steps. Plenty of walking including slight uphill. The guides are very knowledgeable. A fantastic fun day out with lots of surprises.
It was an interesting place to visit but it was very busy so we didn’t really get a chance to fully explore the history. Moved quite quickly through the various “villages”.
WOW!! I absolutely loved this experience. I booked direct with the Mari Mari Cultural Village and arranged them to pick me up and drop me off at the hotel. It is a bit like a living museum in that they have 5 main types of house set up representing 5 of the main tribes in Sabah. Tom, our guide was so good - deep knowledge of the tribes and a good sense of humour. The history, traditions and home life of the tribes was so interesting and to be honest I could have listened for days to learn more. The ' tour' ends with a stunning range of dances traditional to each tribe and performed for different reasons. Then they provide a buffet lunch, which is very good. Took too many photos but without the words/ information they may mean nothing. This trip is a MUST
Very interesting. Very good value for money. Interesting taste experience. Well managed flow despite the world
