Lots of different issues during our experience - unplanned bamboo shop (with extremely pushy personell to bug stuff)/factory visit, desire to skip the marble mountains (even though we went the guide didn’t want to bring us to the caves - it was not raining and it was no slippery). In the end some part of group made to some caves, but rest of group was shocked the trip to marble mountains was cut short. Food was 2 out of 5. Price is cheap, but this is very bad experience sorry.
The 20 minutes we got to spend at Marble Mountain. Was meant to be an hour but after waiting and waiting for pickup 20 minutes was all we got to see of the mountain. Had a very basic meal and then dropped a Hoi An Ancient town to basically look around and shop. If you want to see the Mountain just pay for an entry and go on your own. The same for Hoi An Ancient town. This tour actually started at 2.00pm with other tourists visiting other sites first. We were not aware of this at all. hence they were late.
Hoi An is a colorful and dynamic place. Great not only in the night I guess. There was one big disappointment- dinner. Meals were tasteless. Agency should choose another restaurant- there are many of them in the ancient town.
Marble Mountains and Hoi An are magnificent and amazing places to visit and well worth a trip out to see them. Unfortunately our tour wasn't the best - our guide didn't speak English well, kept walking off and leaving the group behind (20 people!), he didn't explain anything about what we were eating for dinner, left us in Hoi An to fend for ourselves and to work out what was happening, waited until the whole group rejoined the tour to let us know that they had to change buses dur to mechanical issue (not their fault but surely they could have changed buses while we were wandering around Hoi An for 90 mins) but we had to wait around for 75mins while they changed buses. Visit these two places but just get a taxi to both
Marble Mountain was great, as it is unique. The cave with statues were mystical & interesting. This climb requires physically fit tourists. Hoi An (at night) is what I consider as a jewel of Da Nang. The colorful lanterns everywhere was mesmerizing. Impressive point: no policemen, no security agents needed in such a crowded place. People were, in general, well-behaved & polite.
Climbing Marble Mountain is worth it, however, it is only for the physically strong. Scenic view, interesting caves. Hoi An is a visually delightful place. Ideal to see it at night.
The tour covers the Marble mountain which consists of temples and an old cave with the Buddha. There is also a view point with a view of the city. After the Marble mountain visit, delicious Vietnamese dinner was served at a local restaurant. Completing dinner we are free to roam towards and around the Japanese bridge where numerous boats with lanterns offer boat rides. Along the way to the bridge, we can experience the ancient town of Hoi An, clustered with numerous shops and outlets, the evening ends there and returned to Da Nang. The tour guide is a polite and energetic person, but not so good to answer questions due to language differences.
