We really enjoyed this tour and would absolutely recommend it. It was a great way to see several of London’s iconic sights while learning the history behind them. I can’t remember the name of our guide, but she was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history of Westminster Abbey and England in general. She shared a lot of interesting information throughout the tour. We were traveling with our 10- and 12-year-old sons, and I will say some of the historical detail was a bit much for the younger crowd. They weren’t quite as engaged as the adults were, but that’s more a reflection of their ages than the guide. If you’re traveling with kids, just know this is definitely a history-focused tour. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and our guide did a wonderful job. I’d happily recommend this tour to anyone visiting London.
A lot of walking. Pay attention to weather and your health for this kind of walk. It is most definitely a must do tour, but if you leave early after spending so much money you are missing
Wasn't able to make this tour as we misjudged travel time. I sent a message through Viator 's chat but didn't hear back right away. In the meantime, we did get a text about 2' before the start time and I explained the situation ( we were running 15' behind). I asked about joining the group at the 2nd stop but, long story short, that wasn't an option. To Viator's credit, they sent a text expressing disappointment that we couldn't participate & included instructions on how to request a 60% refund! I didn't expect that and felt it was very generous seeing as we were the ones that screwed up! Have always had good experiences with Viator, the way they handled this situation elevated them even more in my opinion.
It is packed with great history. It is a Wonderful tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. We saw and learned about so many things.
Andrew Raynor was excellent and the tour will be a highlight of our vacation! A must do for everyone!
Very good tour, Andrew was a great guide.
Daniel was phenomenal and I highly recommend this tour! He was attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He always made sure we stayed together, knew where he was, and never missed a thing. His historical explanations brought everything to life, and I especially enjoyed hearing about Queen Mary of Scots and the fascinating stories surrounding the British monarchy. St. James’s Park and the gardens were absolutely stunning and became one of my favorite parts of the day. Although the extreme heat meant there was no Changing of the Guard, what we experienced instead felt even more special. One of the unexpected highlights was arriving at Horse Guards Parade just as the King’s Life Guard ceremony was beginning. The area was empty when we arrived, but then a police officer appeared, followed by the mounted guards riding out in ceremonial procession with a female officer leading on foot. Watching these magnificent horses and their guards take up their positions was fascinating and something I never would have experienced on my own. Daniel’s attentiveness made the day unforgettable. After touring St James Gardens, he noticed activity across the street and realized something exciting was happening. Moments later, we were thrilled to see King Charles drive by, and he even waved to us! It was such an exciting and joyful surprise. Daniel didn’t just share history. He helped us notice history unfolding around us. I am so glad I chose this tour. It was worth every penny and far exceeded simply purchasing a ticket and exploring on my own. I highly recommend Daniel with The Tour Guy, 100%!
Isabelle was one of, if not the best tour guide I have ever had. Her commentary was phenomenal and was fun to chat to as well! Helped us find amazing spots to watch the changing of the guards. The Abbey was gorgeous!
The tour was a bit long but there was a lot to see.
Jackie, our guide, was terrific. Very friendly, funny, informative, and easy to follow. We had to leave early to catch a flight but would highly recommend.
Hi Donald, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am so glad to hear that Jackie made such a wonderful impression on you with her humor and knowledge. It is always our goal to make these iconic spots easy to navigate and fun to learn about. It is a pity you had to head off early to catch your flight, but I appreciate you taking a moment to recommend us anyway. Safe travels on your next journey, and we would love to have you back to see the rest of the tour whenever you are next in London.
