Dopo essere venuti a prendervi, faremo un breve viaggio di 20 minuti verso la prima fermata "The Plaza San Martín", circondata da magnifiche strutture come il Gran Hotel Bolívar, il Teatro Colón, edifici unici in stile Art Nouveau e così via. Questa bellissima piazza fu costruita nel 1921 per onorare il primo centenario dell'indipendenza peruviana, per molti storici dell'arte è una delle piazze più grandi e belle di Lima. Inoltre, per molti locali, questa piazza è importante perché è dedicata al generale Jose de San Martin, un leader chiave per la lotta per l'indipendenza in Sud America.
Viaggeremo nel tempo camminando lungo la famosa Jiron de la Union, una famosa strada pedonale, considerata fin dall'epoca coloniale come la strada più importante di Lima dove si riunivano aristocratici e personaggi famosi. Inoltre, lungo il percorso osserveremo magnifiche costruzioni di diversi secoli e imponenti chiese coloniali. Naturalmente, non perderemo l'opportunità di conoscere la storia dell'occupazione di questo luogo da parte dei nativi peruviani prima dell'arrivo degli spagnoli.
Per molti architetti e storici dell'arte "CHURCH LA MERCED" ha uno dei migliori esempi di facciata in stile barocco in tutto il centro storico, quindi è impossibile non ammirarne la bellezza e scattare foto mozzafiato. La chiesa originaria era una piccola costruzione in legno e costruita già prima della fondazione di Lima. Tuttavia, la chiesa che vediamo oggi ha subito diversi restauri ma è ancora bellissima. Solo se è aperto potremmo avere la possibilità di visitare l'interno della chiesa, lo adorerai.
Visiteremo una delle chiese più imponenti e visitate chiamata "Chiesa di San Francesco da Lima", in questo museo possiamo trovare la biblioteca più antica dell'amaerica latina con oltre 25.000 libri originali; l'alta sala del coro, che è circondata da un'incredibile sedia intagliata a mano, l'incomparabile chiostro principale e il luogo di culto della torta sono le imponenti e misteriose Catacombe situate sotto terra della chiesa, questo luogo misterioso era un cimitero pubblico dei tempi coloniali per i cattolici . Negli ultimi secoli sono state raccontate molte storie su questo posto, sono sicuro che ti piacerà ascoltarle.

We had a fantastic experience. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. He provided a wealth of interesting historical information and did a great job making the tour engaging and informative. I would definitely recommend this tour and guide.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed both tours. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and the city tour was an excellent way to learn about Lima’s history, architecture, and the significance of the buildings around us. We only had a few days in Lima, but this experience was absolutely worth it. The snacks included were a lovely bonus. The churros were honestly the best I’ve ever tasted! We also enjoyed a selection of other local snacks, which made the experience even more memorable. We also joined the Water Circuit tour, which I highly recommend. It provided so much interesting information about the park that we never would have discovered on our own, making the visit far more meaningful. What really stood out was how organised and accommodating the company was. My partner and I had a night bus to catch at 9:30 pm, and they kindly arranged separate transport so we could leave the tour a little early and still make it back in time, all at no extra cost. Their flexibility and excellent customer service were greatly appreciated. Overall, this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend these tours to anyone visiting Lima!

After spending a few weeks in Lima, I went on this tour as a birthday gift to myself. Even though it was just another tourist and me, Amadeo was very friendly and engaging with us. He welcomed questions and spoke English well, so there was no communication problem. The highlight was definitely seeing the catacombs. I enjoyed experiencing the center with a local. The tour also included a Peruvian churro, which was yummy. I would recommend this tour to other visitors!

This was a great way to explore the historical city. We were very lucky to be the only two on the tour so had a private guide Amadeus. He was brilliant. Very warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was great at taking photos and answering all our questions. He gave us some great tips on places to go after the tour too. The churros included in the tour are soooooo good. Definitely get the caramel. I added on the transfer the day before as I thought it would be easier than travelling from miraflores ourselves as we were worried about traffic. The company were very responsive. Everything was very easy to organise and went smoothly. Elvis the driver was punctual and pleasant and our guide Amadeus was with him so our tour started from hotel pick up. Definitely go this tour when in Lima. Our tip - go in the morning, finish at the palace for the changing of the guards and go to the Terrace club at 12 when it opens for a cocktail with a view of the palace. It’s beautiful inside too.

Amadeus, Amadeus....Amadeus is a fantastic guide. Super chill dude, extremely open and funny. Kept things light, but still managed to teach us a lot about Lima, from history to culture to food (including a great restaurant recommendation!). If we were staying longer (or perhaps on a return trip), we would def book another tour. Rock on, Amadeus!

We walked around Lima and saw all of the amazing architecture from all around the world and the catacombs under the church. We also got delicious Peruvian churros which was one of the best parts!
