La sosta Tarpon Feeding è di gran lunga uno dei punti salienti del tour. Ci piace dire, se non sei ancora completamente sveglio, questa è la fermata che ti farà battere il cuore! I tarpon sono pesci enormi che possono crescere fino a 8 piedi di lunghezza e pesare fino a 300 libbre. Nutrire questi giganti saltellanti è un'esperienza indimenticabile che non vorrai assolutamente perdere quando visiti Caye Caulker.
La barriera corallina del Belize è lunga circa 287 miglia. In un tour di un'intera giornata da Caye Caulker, esplorerai solo una piccola porzione della sua magnificenza. La nostra prossima fermata è a soli 8 minuti da Caye Caulker, dove cercheremo da 2 a 3 aree principali della barriera corallina alla ricerca di lamantini. Una volta trovato, faremo snorkeling con loro, ovviamente, mantenendo una distanza rispettosa ed evitando qualsiasi tocco o molestia a queste maestose creature. Se non siamo fortunati all’inizio, continueremo verso altre fermate e ci riproveremo sulla via del ritorno a Caye Caulker.
La nostra prossima tappa è il Coral Garden. È qui che farai snorkeling ed esplorerai al tuo ritmo, sia che tu preferisca andare da solo o con un compagno di viaggio o un partner, indipendentemente dal tuo livello di esperienza. Anche se il Coral Garden si trova al di fuori dell'area protetta, trattiamo tutte le soste per lo snorkeling con lo stesso livello di cura e rispetto. Ciò significa non stare in piedi, toccare i coralli o raccogliere nulla dalla barriera corallina. Il Coral Garden ospita una grande varietà di flora e fauna, tra cui tartarughe marine, razze, squali nutrice, razze aquile, murene e molti tipi diversi di pesci, oltre a una splendida gamma di formazioni coralline di tutte le forme, dimensioni e colori.
La nostra piccola versione del Titanic - la Chiatta affondata - è lunga circa 40 piedi e larga 20 piedi. È stata un'attrazione unica per molti anni, grazie alla grande varietà di coralli e pesci che ne hanno fatto la loro casa. Anche se copre una piccola area, è incredibilmente interessante a modo suo. Essendo una grande struttura cava, non si sa mai cosa potrebbe nascondersi dentro o sotto di essa, come enormi murene, squali nutrice, tartarughe e pesci leone. Dopo più di 30 anni sott'acqua, la chiatta è ora splendidamente incrostata da un vibrante mix di coralli duri e molli, che aggiunge fascino e importanza ecologica.
Successivamente, mentre entriamo nella riserva marina di Hol Chan, arriviamo a Shark and Ray Alley, una delle soste più divertenti ed emozionanti per lo snorkeling. Gli squali nutrice, che sono tra gli squali più docili della nostra barriera corallina, sono l'unica specie di squalo comunemente presente in questa zona. Condividono le acque con razze australi e una varietà di pesci, tutti approfittando della limitata pesca consentita in questa parte designata della riserva. Non appena entra un qualsiasi vascello, gli squali cominciano a seguirlo, aspettandosi del cibo. E non appena leghiamo la nostra barca a una delle boe, si radunano vicino a poppa sul lato di dritta, vorticosamente in attesa delle sardine. Questi squali possono essere osservati facilmente da bordo, poiché si avvicinano molto alla barca, ma naturalmente ti invitiamo a salire a bordo e rendere l'esperienza davvero indimenticabile.
Il Canale Hol Chan è la prima zona della Riserva ad essere protetta, risalente al 1987. Questo canale è ricco di vita marina e offre un'incredibile esperienza di snorkeling. Poiché ora ci troviamo all'interno di un'area protetta, qui si applicano regole severe a tutti coloro che entrano e fanno snorkeling. Tutti gli ospiti devono seguire la loro guida in ogni momento, poiché il canale può occasionalmente avere forti correnti e più gruppi di snorkeler nella zona. Durante lo snorkeling, la tua guida fornirà anche approfondimenti educativi sulla vita marina. Lui o lei si immergerà e, una volta riemerso, identificherà e nominerà varie specie di pesci e coralli in modo che tutti abbiano l'opportunità di saperne di più sull'ecosistema sottomarino. Questa sosta dura in genere dai 30 ai 40 minuti, a seconda delle condizioni. La sicurezza è sempre la nostra priorità assoluta, ma ovviamente vogliamo che anche tutti si divertano.

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish, the A team really went of their way to make sure we all had the best time and saw amazing sealife, great lunch and rum punch and fruit platter was a bonus!

We had a wonderful day. The sun was shining and the reef looked beautiful. We were very lucky to swim with manatee!! We also swam with turtles and sharks and a whole array of fish! Wow! I picked this tour based on the other reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype. Alwin and EJ went above and beyond in so many ways to make this a great experience. I was nervous to stay in Caye Caulker in July with all the reports of Sargassum. This did not impact the snorkeling as we were inside of the reef and the boat could easily anchor at spots free of seaweed. Visibility was great, corals were healthy, and the fish were everywhere. We saw eagle rays, manatees, lobster, nurse sharks, puffer fish, tarpon, barracuda,,,, an amazing day. Also, the reef cuts the swell, on the day we went out was a small craft advisory (3-6 ft waves reported online). However, there were no waves noticeable where we were snorkeling and the boat ride was smooth all day. Wear a rash guard, the sun is intense.

Amazing. Al was a great caption and EJ amazed us with his free diving at the bottom of the ocean. He went above and beyond to show us a green eel and a unique colored stingray. Unforgettable experience. The shark alley was probably the family favorite.

We had an incredible tour with black hawk tours. The guides and captain Al and EJ were both knowledgeable and environmentally aware. They are passionate to show you the reef while keeping diligent to protect the reefs biodiversity. My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience today on our Hol Chan Marine Reserve tour with Blackhawk Tours. Kelvin was very friendly and helpful explaining everything to us the day before the tour so we knew exactly how to prepare prior to the tour. Our tour was led by Al and Daniel who both offered an amazing and fun experience with their professionalism, overall knowledge and hospitality. We were given a perfect amount of time at each stop of the tour and were fully able to enjoy and take advantage of each experience offered. With opportunities to see many different species of fish, Sting Rays, Sea Turtles, Sharks and even a Manatee, this tour offered incredible and unforgettable experiences. Lunch, drinks and fruit were served onboard and everyone was given time to be able to take a break and eat during the tour. Overall I would recommend this tour 100 % ! Thank you to Kelvin, Al, Daniel and the entire Blackhawk Tours team for allowing my girlfriend and I to have such a memorable and outstanding experience in Belize.
