We took our 15 and 11-year-old children, and everyone had an incredible experience filled with hands-on activities. The kids were thoroughly entertained for hours while learning so much about Da Vinci. The ticket prices were also very reasonable.
This is a small museum very close the St Peter’s Basilica. It has hands on experiences on the first floor. The lower floor is a collection of reproductions of famous paintings. The self guided audio tour allows you to click on a card for the correct information for each item. You go at your own pace. We sat on the floor listening to the info about each piece (enjoying the air conditioning in the heat wave!) before walking the short distance back to the hop on hop off bus stop. Please note: there is NO restaurant inside, nor next to, this museum experience; I was misled by Google & Trip Advisor (Ciocco restaurant was advertised). The closest restaurant was 1minute further along the same road, which was average and not worth writing about.
Staff at the entrance unwelcoming and unfriendly, almost annoyed by our presence, who provided us with scarce, hasty, and erroneous instructions regarding the use of the audio guide. Given the cost incurred, we expected a complete, clear, simple, and interesting audio guide of all the exhibits present, which was not the case. For many exhibits, the only way to get information was to read the posted signs. Too bad. Not recommended.

Fascinating and eye-opening exhibition
This is a experience if you like da Vinci work and is curious, can easily spend 2 hours in the place and don't need to book in advance, costs €16 (and don't have toilette! the guy in the reception stated that the museum is located in a crypt below a church and they didn't had space or structure to built, a very bad detail in my opinion). You can interact with many of the replicas, every one of them have plaques explaining, and also have a touch screen that you can learn more about the project. Was my favorite museum do visit in Rome, and the best souvenir shop!
Do not do this. You can buy the tickets from the location for the exact same thing and for less money. Also, it’s very small and boring and certainly not worth the cost.

Very interesting! Da Vinci invented or refined so many things we still use today - he was so much more than an artist. What talent and imagination! So much fun to see and try some of his work.
There are 3 locations in Rome that are all called Leonardo da Vinci experience - choose wisely! The trip advisor reviews seem to be all mixed up and it’s not clear which is which, so do extra research. (We went to the one by the Vatican (Via della Conciliazione) by mistake as we didn’t realise that we actually wanted to go to the cheaper, and apparently better one, at Palazzo della Cancelleria.) There is a pleasant shop entrance and the lady that served us was very nice and talked us through the audio guide. To go into the “experience” cost us €34 for 2 adults, a 10 year old, and a 4 year old, we felt this was a bit expensive for what we got. Once inside there is effectively one room upstairs with a couple of exhibits and a print of the last supper, then downstairs is a route through 3 rooms. Two have mock up inventions, the third has copies of paintings. There wasn’t any other guests when we went so we took out time, but were still finished within the hour. We were given pen-style audio guides and laminated maps to scan. They were alright. The rooms are dark and don’t have any windows, but everything is clean and well presented. There is a visitor toilet. To say the exhibits are “interactive experiences” is a bit of an exaggeration. Yes, you can touch some things, but it’s pretty much turn a cog to see another cog turn. The kids were bored very quickly. It was amazing to learn more about the incredible inventions LdV made, especially so many that have influenced and inspired modern technology, however I wished I had just gone to the science centre instead. Likewise, the paintings were good examples but I’d rather see the originals. Overall, this was ok, but expensive and I regret not going to the other one that has better reviews.

If you are a Da Vinci fan this is wonderful, the audio tour is good, but the whole experience left us a bit underwhelmed. The models and interactive experiments were fun, but the paintings section was pretty dull, particularly if you have seen the paintings in the galleries where they are housed. Okay as a time filler, but don’t rush.

Interesting museum experience. Cool to see Da Vinci’s patents and ideas come alive. Nice staff and cool shop at the entrance. A bit small, we wished it could be a bit more stuff to see and do.
