Il nostro viaggio inizia presso l'incantevole Tempio Katsuoji, immerso nella serena regione settentrionale di Osaka. Il tempio, con la sua ricca storia che risale al periodo Nara, è circondato da uno scenario mozzafiato. Nascosta alla fine di un dolce sentiero forestale, la cascata di Minoo è stata a lungo un luogo di ritiro spirituale e bellezza naturale. Una volta visitata dagli asceti della montagna come En no Gyōja, questa cascata di 33 metri è stata associata alla pratica Shugendō e ai mitici guardiani dei draghi che si diceva proteggessero la valle. Oggi, la cascata è una fuga serena dalla città, circondata da una foresta lussureggiante, scimmie giocose e dai suoni calmanti dell'acqua che scorre. Dopo pranzo, attraverseremo il parco e torneremo alla stazione. Lungo il percorso, ci fermeremo in vari punti panoramici e punti di interesse, consentendo di godere ulteriormente della bellezza naturale e del fascino unico del Parco Minoh. Ogni fermata offre la possibilità di ammirare più del lussureggiante ambiente e catturare momenti memorabili di questa tranquilla fuga dal trambusto di Osaka.
Nascosto appena fuori dal sentiero principale, è Ryuanji e Tempio Bentendō. Si dice che Bentendo sia stato fondato da En no Gyōja, il leggendario saggio di montagna, per onorare Benzaiten, la dea dell'acqua, della musica e di tutte le cose che scorrono. Il tempio di Ryuanji non è appariscente come Katsuoji, ma offre qualcosa di più raro: uno spazio calmo e riflessivo intriso di misticismo montano. Secondo la tradizione locale, le scimmie che una volta meditavano qui furono trasformate in uno spirito drago protettivo, dando al tempio il suo nome :"Eremo del Drago".

We had a wonderful experience on this tour, and a big part of that was our guide, Garrett. He has a fantastic personality and was incredibly patient with our children throughout the day. He made a genuine effort to connect with them, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our whole family. The places we visited were all beautiful, but the final stop before the train ride back was especially memorable. It felt like stepping back in time and was the perfect way to end the tour. Garrett was knowledgeable, friendly, and made everyone feel comfortable. We learned a lot about the area while having a great time. We have a great time with our handsome, patient guide, Adam. He did not rush us through the trip. He kept assuring us that we can stop for photo taking or need time to rest. He was our photographer too. Another trainee guide, Kikko who went with us to the trip was entertaining (he sang a few notes now and then; understand he was a performer). He offered to carry our lunch packed from supermarket before the trip. He will definitely be an excellent guide in future.

this tour was really great. it is somewhat of a long ride via bus and train to get there but having the guide to navigate it eliminated all the stress. we absolutely loved the tour if katsuo-ji temple in december. the weather was perfect. the grounds are maintained beautifully. our guide joel knew tons of interesting info about the temple as well as japan in general. he let us really take our time to enjoy and was able to keep both me and my young adult sons engaged throughout. he had us stop at a grocery store on our way to get food for lunch which was both economical and yummy. we ate at a spot outdoors with a beautiful view. we then walked a long path to see minoh falls and a very old and lovely shinto shrine. this was a great outdoor day with lots of walking that got us out into the mountain countryside for a change of pace from our other urban activities.

The lads that took us were great. Spoke perfect English. Not that that mattered and knew all about where we went. To be honest I was expecting to train it as I don’t usually read stuff lol I just book. But I really enjoyed the whole Japan experience. As for the tour. DO IT. !!! It was fantastic
Our guides were amazing! Unfortunately I don't remember the names and I would have loved to take your contact but it's a boy from the Philippines and the other from New York. Super patient, friendly and knowledgeable. The place is amazing, the temple is stunning, full of history and beauty. You get to hear the monks praying, it's an unforgettable experience. The waterfall walk is very quiet and not tired. Of all the temples we visited in Japan, this is in our top 3.
