We were warmly welcomed, and the whole experience was perfect. In the package we ordered we got to choose between wooden serving trays or porselen plates. We all choose serving trays, red and black. You get to choose one sticker (two if smaller ones) to make your gold leaf motive, and they help you through the whole prosess. Recommended experience.

We all enjoyed this activity which was in the heart of Higashi Chaya. The setting was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

What a pleasure to experiment with gold leaf in an easy "first time" way. The lovely women helping made the process go smoothly. They were very supportive and excited when things turned out well, applauding every little success. I asked to make a second tray with gold imprint because it was so much fun (and I needed two gifts). One of the women even accompanied me to a nearby store to purchase more gold leaf so I can continue to experiment at home. (And waited while I had some gold leaf ice cream.) Their warmth and charm were a highlight of my Kanazawa visit.

The place is quite easy to find and only a short walk from stop4 on the loopbus line. The ground floor is a craft/souvenir shop. We were the only gold leafing customers. The 2 members of staff were very attentive and showed us exactly what to do although they actually did quite a bit for us. Still the motif of a gold mount fuji and a crane came out well on our small trays which we were able to take home. The whole experience lasted about 20 minutes. The area is well worth exploring so we were very glad to have booked the tour for I don't think we would have seen the area otherwise.

Quick and easy for all ages. Friendly staff who were efficient and helpful. Lovely store down below and a great area.

Thete was a little confusion about precisely what the activity included........ what was sold via Viator was not what the shop was proposing.....

This craft used stencils, so it does not require any artistic ability to create a lovely souvenir with gold leaf. Suitable for young and old. I really enjoyed it very much.

The experience was wonderful, Kazu was experienced and taught us the fine art of traditional paper making skills. A must do.
