Elisa was an amazing tour guide and a wealth of information. She had such a pleasant personality. I highly recommend this tour.
Elisa was delightful and such a great tour guide. She showed us the city and got us acclimated to centro. She showed us places that we returned to later. We very much enjoyed our time with her
You will be told of places to go that you might not find on your own. Mary was a delightful host who hails from Minnesota but now lives in San Miguel with her chef husband.
Our guide Elisa was so knowledgeable and we learned such great history about the centro area of San Miguel. She also sent us many recommendations for more things to do after the tour. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and chocolate truffle was an added bonus. A great tour.
The guide spoke excellent English! There were 9 of us, so no headsets were needed. The lunch was quick and delicious! I highly recommend this tour. The guide said she would send a copy of our group photo. Hope to get that soon. Worth the money!
Guide was very knowledgeable and personable! Tour was about an hour followed by a great lunch. Highly recommend.
My wife and I signed up for this walking-and-tasting tour and had the great good fortune to be guided by Elisa Torres, a friendly, knowledgeable, English-speaking lifetime local (her family has lived here for generations). Armed with her deep knowledge of SMA history and all the fascinating factoids that bring an ancient place to life, Elisa will have you falling more in love with San Miguel de Allende with every step. The tour began at the parque in front of Templo San Francisco, a place of great historic significance. But don't think this is all work and no fun. The first thing Elisa did was hand us freshly handmade churros tucked under a blanket of delicious cajeta (goat's milk caramel). Best way to start a tour EVER. About midway through the tour she'll take you to a restaurant that already knows your allergies or dietary restrictions. That's planning right there. After lunch, expect to stop by a family-run ice cream stand for a final, delicious treat. Between tastings, you'll get your fill of fun and fascinating info. Elisa seems to know everyone, and they seem to know her. She knows their stories. She knows who is selling genuine artworks and crafts made by hand by indigenous artesans, and where you are likely to run across Chinese-made lookalikes that purport to be the real thing--and that cost even more than the real thing. She'll take you to several must-sees and point out others you shouldn't miss. We've been ticking off the list she gave us and there isn't a clinker in the bunch. If it were possible to give this tour--and this excellent guide--6 stars, we'd do it without hesitation. Book this tour today. The company that operates it, Taste of San Miguel, is a top-flight outfit that offers multiple tours, and we're certain all their guides are excellent; in fact, we've booked the nighttime Ghost Tour with them as well. Our thanks to Elisa and the team at Taste of San Miguel for a terrific day in SMA.
Wonderful tour and guide. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend it highly. Learned a great deal
Our guide Sam was amazing! We opted to book a private tour because we had small children and grandparents. It was very much worth it. We were able to go at a slower and more flexible pace which was perfect with a 2 & 6 year old. Booking was incredibly easy and transparent. Thank you for a wonderful morning, Sam!
Our tour was amazing! And it was because of our wonderful guide, Elisa. She took her time with us and is so knowledgeable about the history of SMA. She made it so interesting. We would definitely highly recommend this tour with her. We were a group of 9.
