La nostra avventura inizia a Ponta da Piedade, un gioiello mozzafiato lungo la costa dell'Algarve. Questa meraviglia naturale vanta imponenti scogliere dalle tonalità dorate, scolpite dal tempo e dalle maree in archi ipnotici, grotte e grotte nascoste. Dal mare, sblocchiamo una prospettiva completamente nuova delle meraviglie più mozzafiato dell'Algarve. Alla deriva lungo la costa, diamo un'occhiata da vicino a gemme nascoste come l'incantevole Grotta di Boneca, dove la natura ha scolpito splendide formazioni rocciose che assomigliano a finestre sul blu infinito. La vista dall’acqua è a dir poco magica, rivelando angoli segreti della costa che pochi riescono a vedere. E la parte migliore? Ormai, abbiamo già esplorato alcune delle grotte più incredibili sulla strada per il leggendario Benagil. Ma uno dei veri punti salienti è la vista mozzafiato del Faro Alfanzina dall'oceano. In cima alle scogliere, questo faro iconico è ancora più impressionante dall'acqua. E la vera magia? Sotto di essa si trova un’enorme grotta nascosta, che non solo ammiriamo da lontano, ma che in realtà ci avventuriamo all’interno! Il contrasto di luci e ombre, l’eco delle onde e la vastità di questa meraviglia naturale ne fanno un momento indimenticabile del nostro viaggio.
Finalmente, raggiungiamo il gioiello della corona dell'Algarve: Algar de Benagil, una delle destinazioni più mozzafiato e ricercate del Portogallo! Questa splendida grotta marina, con le sue imponenti pareti dorate e l'iconica cupola illuminata dal sole, sembra una cattedrale nascosta scolpita dalla natura stessa. L'anticipazione cresce man mano che ci avviciniamo, e una volta dentro, la magia si dispiega davvero. Preparati a catturare alcune delle foto più epiche del viaggio, incorniciate dal lucernario naturale della grotta e dalle acque cristalline. Faremo una nuotata rinfrescante nel suo mare turchese, immergendoci nella bellezza dei nostri dintorni. Poi, ci rilasseremo a bordo con alcuni deliziosi snack, assaporando gli ultimi momenti di questo viaggio indimenticabile prima di tornare a Lagos. È il finale perfetto di un’avventura epica!

I don’t say this lightly: this was the single most memorable thing I’ve ever experienced. Truly. We booked not knowing quite what to expect, and from start to finish it was exhilarating — the kind of day that has everyone grinning and a little breathless. What made it extraordinary was how it landed with the kids. They were thrilled the entire time, completely caught up in it, and watching them light up like that is something I’ll carry with me for a long time. Mad Max is the reason it worked. He brought this infectious energy that pulled the whole family in, kept everyone safe and comfortable, and somehow made it feel thrilling and effortless at the same time. We booked a private tour with Algarve On Board on a bit of a whim, and it ended up being the highlight of our whole trip. Max made it that way. From the moment we stepped on board he had the balance exactly right — relaxed and easy to be around, but clearly someone who knows these waters cold. He took us along the cliffs and into the caves and grottoes, and every time we rounded a corner there was something that made us gasp. He knew precisely where to slow down, where to let us just sit and take it in, and where the light hit best for photos (he offered to take them without us even asking). What stood out most was how genuinely warm he was. He read the group perfectly — gave the kids a thrill, answered our endless questions about the coastline, and never once made it feel rushed or scripted. By the end it felt less like a tour and more like a day out with someone who really loves where he lives and wanted us to love it too. If you’re deciding whether to do this: do it, and hope you get Max. We’ll be back.

We had a fantastic excursion thanks to Max. His knowledge of the area and attention to detail with us was excellent. We felt well taken care of and special. We had the most incredible day yesterday with Max touring the Algarve area. The views were spectacular, however, our host Max was the real star! He prepared a perfect picnic lunch on board, had great music playing and took tons of pics for us. The day was the true highlight of our time in Algarve. I would highly recommend using his company!!!
