Our tour guide, Diego was great. He shared a lot of history of the area and the Arenal volcano. The hike to the volcano was strenuous but beautiful. The hot springs was a great way to cap off the tour.
Went on this tour with my family in May for our first visit to Costa Rica. Our guides were passionate and helpful at pointing out wildlife throughout the day. The waterfall & volcano hikes were not for the faint of heart but were were not rushed and happy we had Keens on. Wish I would've packed a waterproof pouch for my iPhone for pics but did just fine.
It was raining on the day of my tour, so I was on the fence about going, but so glad I did! It was wonderful experience getting to see the rainforest in action and learning more about the volcanos here and resilient nature is. Both Manuel and Uriel were wonderful guides with so much knowledge and love La Fortuna! Highly recommend booking this tour
This day tour was excellent, our guides were Diego and Errol their english was excellent and they explained the landmarks, wildlife and history superbly, from start to finish the excursions were excellent including a very nice buffet lunch, the finish at the hot pools with a local tipple ended the day perfectly, highly recommend this tour
Amazing experience!! Fun full day of activities! Our tour guides were amazing. Definitely recommend it. Lunch was good and the hot springs were nice!
Great experience. The guides were informative and funny. Christian was our guide, and we would want him again. I thought they were overly tolerant of people being late, which resulted in 45m of unnecessary waiting and guide distractions. The falls themselves are incredible. It rained a bit, but pura vida. Raincoats are likely not needed, but you should have a way to keep your stuff dry. Rain is warm and you are hiking in clothes that dry quick so just let it rain. The hike up from the falls is steep and long (+500 steps). If you have bad knees, you might need to reconsider. If you have modest fitness and grit, just go at a pace that works for you. The Arenal Volcano was nice. Good to learn some of the geo history. The Springs were a great way to relax. Think of it as a series of hot tubs with flowing mineral water that get hotter and hotter.
The experience went and said delightful. It’s a lot of movement so be ready. Diego and Christian were amazing. Some tour people don’t take the time to really explain the history OR interact individually with their groups and that sucks. But they did. These are TWO hikes. First one is the hike to La fortuna waterfall, you have lunch, and then you’ll hike to volcano arenal. That at least your visit thermal hot spring if it’s included with your reservation. NICE TIME!!!
We crammed a lot in this day and it was a great day out. It was fascinating going to the volcano and learning about the history. The waterfall was wonderful, a beautiful walk down and up again and a fun time in the water too. Although the rocky terrain we clambered over to get near the waterfall was a little crazy! Unfortunately the group size (around 20) made the time at the volcano less enjoyable because our group was so large we couldn't always hear what the guide was saying and the was just too big for this type of trip. The lunch was good. I thought the hot strings would have been more authentic, sadly it was full of pizza stalls and bars with loud music, not exactly relaxing.
There were actualy two guides for the group so there were ten persons per guide. They do parts of the trip together so they can help each other. Unfortunate that you did not notice this or forgot to mention this. We are very happy to offer this hotsprings experience. Are there better ones, may be. Any of the other ones will raise the price of the experience with about 50%. We only spend about an hour at the end to the day at the hotsprings. I don't think that raising the price $50 would be in the customers or our interest. There are more lively parts but there are certainly plenty of quiete and relaxing parts. Thanks for highlighting these points.
It's a long but very rewarding day but well worth the effort. You need a guide to get the best of it
This was an amazing full day tour. Every part of the tour was interesting, and the tour guides were so nice. Very satisfied with the experience.
