We had an amazing evening with Rashid. We tried 9 or 10 different dishes from different places and places we would never have stopped at ourselves. Definitely come hungry, we were stuffed by the end of the tour. It really helped us get a sense of the Medina also.
A great tour. Rahim was terrific and it was a very fun evening. Highly recommended!
So much good food, when we thought it was over it just kept going. Our guide was super helpful and entertaining
It’s a great way to spotlight the basics of Morocco cuisine. The food we ate was fresh and delicious. Nothing disagreed with my stomach and I found myself wanting more. I can’t wait to explore the more adventurous food options Morocco has to offer. I would encourage anyone to participate in this tour. Our guide made my mother and I feel 100% comfortable and he was quite the historian.
What an incredible food tour. I can't recommend it enough! We ate at some places we never would have eaten at on our own, both because we wouldn't have known to go there or because it was arranged just for the tour. We had so much amazing food and learned a lot about Moroccan food and culture. Our guide (I'm so sorry, I can remember his face but not his name!) was really helpful and informative and made sure we had a great time. The food tours we did were some of our favorite things on this trip, and I can't recommend this one enough.
Our walking food tour was a great way to start our adventure in Marrakech! On our first night we did this tour and not only had the chance to eat all kinds of amazing foods; but we also learned about the local culture and met so many welcoming people. From our lamb tangia, to fresh doughnuts, to homemade couscous by Fatima we were guided through the back streets of the Medina by our own private guide! While walking and tasting we were able to ask questions and learn the history of some popular Moroccan dishes. After our tour we felt even more comfortable navigating the neighborhood and food scene. This tour is a must do!
I didn't know what to expect but this was the perfect tour to begin our 3-week adventure in Morocco. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He navigated us through the medina and the souks, taking us to his favorite spots. Highlights included the olive vendor, the donut kings of Marrakesh and the delicious tangine with couscous. We ended up in a rooftop cafe with a spectacular view of the Koutoubia Mosque. My only suggestion is to cut a few stops. By the end we were so full and tired we couldn't eat a bite more. All of it was delicious but it was a LOT!!
Top experience in Morocco! Bassam was an amazing guide - he clearly had a passion for the food and culture of Marrakech. His tour was funny and insightful and we tasted a diverse range of delicious foods. Of note is the couscous and royal tea prepared by Fatima. We felt honoured to be invited into her shop and taste her amazing food. We cannot recommend this tour enough!
Our local guide, Saeed, was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable. So many things to taste - snails from the stall in the main square, lamb cooked in an underground pit, traditional freshly baked doughnuts, and so much more. The highlight was a visit to Fatima’s house to taste her lovingly-prepared couscous. We did this on our first night in Marrakech and it was a great way to get oriented with the medina. Would definitely recommend.
This was a delightful experience. We were able to enjoy multiple stops at restaurants, not food stalls, as we traveled through the market area. They happily accommodated our group, half of which eat meat and chicken and half of us which only ate fish and vegetables. Our friends who enjoyed the lamb said it was outstanding. We were wowed by the cucumber “ juice” which turned out to be a cold cucumber soup somewhat like gazpacho. At one stop, we tasted a wide variety of dried fruits and various nuts. At another stop, we had piping hot donuts prepared in front of us, which we dipped in honey and sugar. Watch out Krispy Kreme! Our entire group unanimously agreed that the next to last stop for couscous and traditional tea service was unforgettable. I will never be able to eat instant couscous again! Our host took time to explain every step of the tea ceremony, and how she prepared the couscous over 2 1/2 hours prior to us arriving. I have taken food tours in Paris, Lisbon, and Madrid, and this was one of my favorites. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
