Kualoa Ranch - Tour a piedi a cavallo

Our guide, Ashley, was extremely knowledgeable, very funny, and so helpful!! We had so much fun riding through the mountains and valleys of Oahu. From seaside cliffs to Jurassic valley. Sooo amazing!! The horses were so friendly and responsive. I can’t wait to come back and do it again. Well worth the money. I wish we could’ve ridden the horses all week.

We had a lot of fun on our tour. Getting to see such beautiful parts of the island on horseback was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide was very kind and patient with everyone’s varying comfort level with riding. I only wish they had talked more about the movies filmed on site, as that’s what we thought the tour was about. They did mention two scenes, but we didn’t really have a chance to stop and take photos or ask questions. It was also hard to hear as our guide was very soft spoken. Over all however it was such a beautiful trip that we would do it again!

Had a wonderful and unforgettable horseback riding experience with Belinda as our guide. She was so kind, gave everyone attention and I honestly feel like we made a new friend in Hawaii that day! I loved my sweet horse and the horses all seemed happy and well-loved. They water and snack between sessions and they ate almost on autopilot:) Scenery was stunning and so enjoyable by horseback.

The horses were so gentle and responsive. The views were breathtaking. Ashley, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. This was a highlight of our Oahu visit!

All I can say is Buyer Beware. Kualoa Ranch is one of the most unethical tour operators in Hawaii. We booked a 2-hour horse ride with them via Trip Advisor. After searching for several hours to find things to do in Hawaii with the family, I thought I had found the perfect trip for all of us. Unfortunately, I must have missed the 10 years minimum age requirement, and our son is only 8. I caught this mistake the night before our scheduled tour, but they were already closed. I called them at 7:30am the next morning as soon as they opened and explained the error to them. I did not ask for a refund, I just asked if we could switch to one of the several other activities, they offered that was open to kids age 8. I was told that because I bought it through a 3rd party, I would have to ask them to request a change. I called Trip Advisor and explained the situation to them. They reached out to Kualoa Ranch and asked them if we could switch to a different activity. They were promptly told by the same woman I spoke to that she was not authorized to permit any changes and that Trip Advisor would have to email their request. Trip Advisor did this, but after they sent the email, Kualoa Ranch responded and told them no refunds and no changes were allowed. We spent over $300 and received nothing for the money. It would not have cost them anything to allow us to change activities. I was willing to pay any cost difference, but Kualoa saw an opportunity to keep $325 from a family who paid in good faith while providing zero services. I am sure the tours are fun if you go, but they have terrible customer service, and I would never do business with them or recommend them to anyone.

The view is absolutely breathtaking but the horses seem overworked, tired, and unhappy. The tours were lengthy and in extreme heat. If the horses had back to back tours, that would be extremely inhumane. Many older horses also seemed in rotation.

Amazing we had a great time, and an excellent guide called Belinda. Very professional horse 🐎 woman. Horses were great. Also water available for them on our ride, and photos 📸 taken by our guide. Also we were weighed before given our horse 🐎 to ride, I thought was good so the horse was not put under pressure carrying to much weight for its size. I rode a beautiful gelding named Paniolo meaning Hawaiian cowboy 🤠. Very well trained horse 🐎 great temperament.

Great Experience. Summer was a great guide, incredible views and cool way to see the ranch. Make sure you wear shoes, does not say this on the online booking! Horses were great and safe! Would do it again!

Amazing! Riding Gotham was so fun, and our tour guide was great and friendly and made our first experience so smooth!

Overall, the tour itself met my expectations, but the guide’s attitude toward me left me feeling very uncomfortable. 1. During the photo stop When everyone stopped to take pictures, she only asked me whether I wanted photos. She didn’t ask anyone else. Then she asked if I had an iPhone. I said yes, and she replied, “Oh, then I can AirDrop them to you.” For everyone else, however, she enthusiastically took their photos without asking what kind of phone they had or whether AirDrop would work. The way she treated me felt noticeably different. 2. At the end of the tour When we got back to the gate, I knew she was going to AirDrop the photos, so I immediately turned on AirDrop and stood about half a meter in front of her. Everyone else was standing farther away than I was. She went through the AirDrop list, asked whose name was whose, and sent the photos to each person one by one—except me. Then she said, “If people all get their photos, then you are good to go.” I looked at her in shock and said, “You don’t even ask me.” She replied that it was because she hadn’t gotten to my photos yet. I was like, “Then why would you say, ‘If everyone got their photos, you’re good to go’?” I had turned on AirDrop the moment we walked in, so she should have seen my name and asked me much earlier. In the end, she simply sent me my photos without apologizing. The tour ended a little after 4 p.m., and since it was almost the end of the workday, there weren’t many people at the front desk. They asked me to send an email instead, but I told them I wanted to report this directly to the guide’s manager. Her manager, a young guy, was very nice. He listened to everything I had to say and told me he would report it to his supervisor the next day and call me with an update. The guide’s name was Jess (I’m not 100% sure about the spelling), and the tour was from 2:00–4:00 p.m. To this day, I still don’t know why she treated me that way. I don’t know whether it was racial discrimination, gender discrimination, discrimination against solo riders, or something else. But as a paying customer, I don’t think anyone should be treated that way.
