We highly recommend this food tour. Our guide was Kai. He was amazing. Kai was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. We had eight different tastings in different locations throughout Kona. One of our surprise tasting was the spamushi. It was delicious. The portions on this tour were perfect for this many stops. We were so stuffed at the end of the tour, we were contemplating not having dinner that evening. Our last stop was to get a gelato. Which took me back to a Rome food tour we had done a couple years ago. The gelato was just as good if not better than what we had in Rome. By far this food tour is one of my favorites.
This tour was informative, fun and filling. The food was delicious and Kai our guide kept us informed about the history and current events on the island.
Great tour down A'ali drive. Ellie and Kai were friendly and fun. The food choices were diverse and delicious.
Ellie gave us a great small group experience teaching us about some of the history of Kona. The small bites and delicious mini drinks were so great. Overall, we had a great time and we would recommend this tour.
this was a very pleasant short walk with cute little stops. our tour guide kai was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Kai was amazing, informative! Best guide!!
This tour was awesome, and Kai was a fantastic guide! There was a great mix of food and drinks, with some unique Hawaiian favorites and plenty of options everyone could enjoy. Even though it was hot, humid, and the city was busy, it was easy to keep up with the group, and there was always plenty of shade while we stopped for tastings. Two of us aren't seafood fans, but Kai encouraged us to give it a try since everything was so fresh. We ended up loving it! I'd definitely recommend this tour if you're looking for a fun way to experience the local food scene.
Had a lot of fun on this tour. The guide was knowledgeable, the portion sizes were good and the flavors popped :) It started with chicken salad sliders which were very tasty. Then, we made a quick stop to sample local dark chocolate made from scratch with an ancient family recipe. The next restaurant was a local pizzeria that had delicious slices of pesto and cheese pizza. I don't even like pesto, so it must have been good. Another restaurant offered poke, fresh caught that day. The last place offered fish and chips, again, delicious! Lastly, we finished with 2 (just the right size scoops of gelato). Overall, a 10 out of 10 . Everything i was looking for from a food tour. 1. Trying local dishes 2. Delicious food 3. Original recipes 4. A knowledgeable guide who explains the food and culture
Super fun day spent strolling, eating and drinking with Ellie. Met a newlywed couple and a couple celebrating their 40th anniversary on this tour which made it even better. My husband, adult son and I enjoyed the delicious food and drinks along the way as Ellie shared trivia about each place. Views of the water were beautiful while we dined on mini sandwiches, avocado fries (so good!), pizza, fish and chips accompanied by island cocktails and beer. Non alcoholic beverages are available as well I believe. Recommend this tour and we'd definitely do it again!
We had a great time exploring downtown Kona and all the fun foods they had to offer! Our guide Kai was so informative and a great host! Would highly recommend doing this to find fun, local eats and drinks!
