Knuckles Mountain Range: Trekking a catena delle cascate nascoste

My husband and I did a two day hike with our guide Kokila and it ended up being a private trek. Communication was very good and quick via WhatsApp. The tour picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel before and after. Plenty of food was provided throughout the trek. We stayed overnight in cabanas (Seattle Knuckles) which were amazing - very clean, had power, wifi and a hot shower which is what you want after a long day of hiking. Koki our guide was very insightful teaching us the different plants and animals and always made sure we were safe and told us where to step and hold in the trickier parts. I highly recommend!

I did 3 days of hiking with Lanka Trek and honestly couldn’t recommend them more! Ashen was an amazing guide — so knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, local culture and everything we came across along the way. Some parts of the hikes were definitely challenging, but Ashen was so encouraging and motivating and always made sure I was comfortable and going at a pace that worked for me. He was incredibly friendly, patient and genuinely passionate about showing me this beautiful part of Sri Lanka. The scenery was absolutely incredible and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. If you’re thinking about hiking in the Knuckles, I’d 100% recommend Ashen and Lanka Trek!

This 3-day Knuckles trek with Lanka Trek was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. From the start in Kandy to the remote villages and deep forest trails, everything felt unique and untouched. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and far away from the usual tourist routes. Our guide was very professional and made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times. If you want a real adventure and to see the true natural beauty of Sri Lanka, this tour is a must. All admission fees and permits were included in the package, and it was a private tour. They only operate when the crowd size is less than six.

This adventure was one of the highlights of our vacation. Surrounded by stunning nature, you can truly disconnect from the hustle of today’s world. Just be aware of leeches when it’s wet, but don’t let them ruin your experience! Our guides Ashan and Padmika showed excellent route-planning skills, deep knowledge of Knuckles, and were always attentive to make sure we were having a great time. After the hike, we accidentally left some things in the van, but the company did their best to return them to us as quickly as possible, which we really appreciated. Communication with Lanka Trek was smooth and pleasant from the very beginning until the end of the adventure. Although the hike can be quite challenging, don’t hesitate to give it a try. It’s absolutely worth it!

Lanka Trek delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish! As a Belgian hiker used to well-marked trails, I appreciated the adventure of exploring Sri Lanka's forests with our knowledgeable guide Ravi. The 3-day Knuckles trail was challenging but incredibly rewarding with its diverse landscapes and hidden waterfalls. The absolute highlight was finishing our trek at a pristine water stream in the middle of Ranamure's paddy fields. The most peaceful bathing experience I've ever had. The calm surroundings and crystal clear water were the perfect reward after three days of hiking. The traditional Sri Lankan meals were outstanding, a perfect end to each day of hiking.
