We did the cooking class with Amy and it was amazing! We learned so much and the food was delicious! Highly recommend Go early and get happy hour drinks!!
We had a wonderful time! Key Lime Pie Cooking Demo lasts only 30 minutes. We were on the Celebrity Reflection, and did not book the class in advance, as I'd been checking ahead and there was never a time that the class was full, so we just went in person. Only $30, and the class is offered multiple times during the day. The chef made the pie in front of us, very clear directions! One of the guests was asked to help with the meringue. Everyone gets a very generous slice of pie, which had been made earlier. Sublime! We have tried many of the local key lime pies, and honestly, this was the best! Amazing graham cracker crust, delicious VERY TART custard, light Italian meringue which is also flavored with lime. Even if you can't do the class, go for the pie, as you can buy a slice in their cafe!! Don't miss it!
This was my first time with a cooking demonstration. I went to 2, the Key Lime pie demonstration and a dinner, seafood risotto. Both were great experiences. Both chefs were knowledgeable about local customs and lore and both shared great kitchen tips. They were very enjoyable events and I look forward to finding more in my travels.
It was so much fun, the food was great, and Chef Amee was entertaining and informative. I can now make risotto!!
Be prepared to eat! The chef was great at connecting the food with the history and diversity of Key West. If you like history and food, it's a win-win.
The chef made a delicious dinner while telling lots of Key West stories. We loved it so much, that we came back the next day for the key lime pie class.
You receive a large meal do not eat before you go. Key lime pie recipe is the best in Key West. Tried all top three this one definitely wins.
It was fun, informative and most importantly delicious! The Chefs demonstrated how to make the dishes along with really great tips to use at home. We received beautifully printed recipe cards to make each of the dishes at home. All food and drink was provided and you also could order from the bar menu which had many drink options available to you. I had the Key Lime Martini which was really tasty. The food was plentiful and delicious! While in Key West we tried several key lime pies from different establishments and this one here at the cooking show was by far the best we’ve ever had. Depending on the day and time there are different menus they demo so you can always chose based on that was well. We just chose a time that worked for our plans and it was wonderful. We left with full bellies and inspiration to try theses recipes at home. It’s a fun way to spend a few hours while in Key West.
Twice been to the bar, twice had rude unprofessional service. We went in today and asked the Bartender (empty bar, washing dishes) if she was the bartender and her response was “No, I’m just standing here doing nothing!” Needless to say she lost our business. This is the second time we have been here. The first time the gentleman bartender was so condescending and acting like we were bothering him that we haven’t been back in months. After this I don’t see a reason to come back at all. We are local, if that even matters anymore.
Chef Karl was a gracious host, serving up Key West history with a delicious meal. Khristina was an excellent server. We look forward to trying the recipes at home, especially the sangria and flan.
