Pashupatinath è un tempio dedicato a Lord Shiva situato a cinque chilometri a est di Kathmandu, sulla riva del fiume Bagmati. Il tempio ha due tetti dorati e quattro porte d'argento ed è un santo luogo di pellegrinaggio che attrae ogni anno decine di migliaia di pellegrini indù in primavera. Sulle rive del fiume Bagmati si può anche osservare il rituale di cremazione degli indù.
Lo stupa Bouddhanath si trova a 6 km a est di Kathmandu e si ritiene che sia stato costruito nel V secolo d.C. Lo Stupa è uno dei più grandi stupa buddisti del mondo ed è circondato da lama e monasteri buddisti. Bouddhanath è uno stupa sacro per i buddisti tibetani che vengono qui a migliaia in inverno per rendergli onore.
Swayambhunath / Monkey Temple è uno stupa di 2500 anni situato su un poggio a circa 77 m sopra il livello del suolo. Il poggio offre una vista meravigliosa sulla valle di Katmandu. La cupola in cima con gli occhi dipinti su quattro lati simboleggia gli occhi onniveggenti di Buddha. Swayambhunath è un santuario religioso di buddisti. Le sue principali attrazioni includono il Tempio di Krishna, con i suoi 21 pinnacoli d'oro, Rudra Varna Mahavihar, un monastero buddista che ospita i tesori locali e il cortile centrale di Mul Chowk.

We had a wonderful one-day tour around Kathmandu with Saru. Saru is knowledgeable and shared so much insight into the history, culture, and daily life of Kathmandu. Sara guided us through some of the city’s busiest 4 spots and most iconic spots at a comfortable, unhurried pace, giving us time to take everything in without feeling overwhelmed, and she made the whole experience enjoyable, engaging, and very memorable. Highly recommend Saru to anyone looking for a personalised and insightful Kathmandu city tour!
This was an amazing day and an amazing tour! My tour Guide Kapil was great! We started at the Monkey Temple and I got lucky because the yearly festival for ancestors was taking place there. It was crowded but a great cultural experience! We visited all of the major temples in Kathmandu. Kapil was great at explaining the history and culture in Nepal. We also went to the Bagmati River and watched the Cremation ceremonies on the river. This was an intense experience that I will never forget. All in all a great day! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience Kathmandu!

I booked a private Kathmandu city tour through Green Valley with Saru as my guide. Because it was a one-on-one tour, the experience felt very personal and tailored to me. Saru took the time to understand what I was most interested in and adjusted both the pace and depth of explanation throughout the day. She provided rich, thoughtful context on Nepal’s history, culture, and religious traditions, which made each site far more meaningful than a typical sightseeing stop. What I appreciated most was how she explained religious sites and practices. There can be a fine line between sharing information and presenting belief systems, and Saru navigated that beautifully - offering clear, respectful explanations that helped me understand without ever feeling overwhelmed. She was also incredibly warm and easy to spend the day with, which made the one-on-one experience even more enjoyable. It felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring with someone who genuinely cares about sharing their culture. I did this tour at the end of my EBC trek, and it was the perfect way to bring everything together. It helped connect the cultural, spiritual, and historical context behind everything I had experienced.
Kapil the guide was knowledgeable and very good at explaining in a clear and concise manner and Ram the driver was friendly and looks after us well offering his bottle of unopened water when we needed some water. Highly recommended as guide and driver for your tour. Thank you for looking after us.

My friend and I had a wonderful trip with Kapil. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the sights and was intuitive in determining if we wanted more or less on each topic. It was a crazy day #1 of Diwali so the streets of Kathmandu were insane. However, he and our experienced driver managed to get us where we needed to be, even if it meant jumping out of the car was faster! Highly recommend this tour and our guide.
This was an incredible experience and wonderful overview of the UNESCO World Heritage sights as well as navigating the busy streets and markets of Kathmandu. Our guide Kapil was incredibly knowledgeable about Buddhist and Hindu communities and happy to answer any questions that we had. He was also very patient when we wanted to shop or take more photos.
