We completed a cooking class with Shyama tonight and had an amazing experience! She took us to the Kandy Central Market where she explained all the local fruit and veg. We were able to purchase our ingredients before coming back to her kitchen space. We made so many different meals and had so much fun doing so. Shyama and her family were so welcoming, knowledgeable and made our experience unforgettable! A must do when in Kandy
It was great to find ingredients on the market and then incorporate them into local curries, using an excellent English explanation. It was delicious and highly recommended.
We had a wonderful cooking workshop! The market tour was interesting, and the cooking session was well organized and a lot of fun. Our host was very friendly, welcoming, and made everyone feel comfortable. Highly recommended!
It was an amazing experience! The ladies are wonderful and the food is amazing! Definitely visit this place if you are in Kandy!

The best cooking class ever!!!! Shyama was amazing everything was clean and tasty. She explained let me do all by my self i really enjoyed. At the end i ate the meal and the desert. It was great❣️
We had a great experience with the Kandy village cooking class. We enjoyed the market experience with Wasu, then a drive to the village for the class. We made a fantastic feast of curries in a relatively short time and Shayama was great at explaining traditional Sri Lankan cookery. We did the evening class, a family with teenagers, we all loved it.
The best cooking class I have done! My family and I had a great experience from start to finish. We had a tour of the local market first to collect our ingredients which was super fun and also informative, and then travelled to the cooking class which is set in an amazing outdoor kitchen. We did majority of the cooking which was so fun (8 dishes!), obviously with an excellent helping hand and the food was delicious!! Would definitely recommend this class.
Shyama, wassu, and Kumari are amazing hosts who love what they do. The market tour was so fun and Shyama surprised me with some special gifts for our drive to their amazing kitchen. The kitchen is la traditional Sri Lankan outdoor kitchen nestled under the fruit trees behind their home. Absolutely stunning location and space. Shyama and Kumari are soo fun and full of tasty wisdom. We made 5 or 6 amazing dishes plus desert. I recommend highly
A must do if you’re in Kandy! Shyama has created truly authentic experience. Starting with a memorable market visit where we purchased fresh ingredients and got see how the locals shop, then onto Shyama’s village and her beautiful outdoor Sri Lankan kitchen. From the wood fired stove to the clay cooking pots we were guided to create a feast of 7 curries and rice! Truly the best food we’ve eaten in the 2 weeks we’ve been in Sri Lanka and a memory we will treasure.
