We had a great day on K’gari. Our guide Pete was laid back and friendly and made us feel welcome and included. He gave us plenty of interesting facts about the island and talked about the importance of this place to the traditional owners of the land. Lake McKenzie was just stunning and the walk on the boardwalk through the rainforest at Wanggoolba Creek was another highlight. We had a beautiful lunch at K’gari Resort and the drive up the beach spotting wildlife like huge Sea Eagles, dingoes and a few whales was great. A spur of the moment decision to take a flight over the island was a true highlight for me. All in all a great day out. Thanks again to our wonderful guide Pete.
Fantastic day Everything included from pick up from our accommodation to drop off later in the day Caught the King Fisher ferry across to K'Garri and then boarded a 4 wheel bus for the tour Visited suburb rain Forrest's and then had a smorgasbord lunch at the Resert which was excellent Hoped back on the bus to drive on the beach to visit Eli Creek and the Mahano Wreck On the way back across we stopped at Lake McKenzie which was suburb A rain water lake sitting in sand in the middle of the island All staff were friendly and went out of their way to make the experince bettet Highly recommend the experince
I really enjoyed this tour and, even though I'm only 13, it was one of the highlights of my trip. The only thing to be aware of is that the ride can be quite bumpy, so if you get motion sickness easily, keep that in mind. Personally, I thought it made the tour even more exciting! Our tour Guide with Steve and Mike and they were absolutely incredible. They were so funny and you could tell they love their job. It was quite enjoyable and they explained everything in a really incredible way which is really great for everybody and it included interesting stories that were quite entertaining about the place we were in. It was also great for families. We had people of all ages, with the youngest being 7, and everyone had an amazing time. I'd recommend bringing a floaty or inflatable tube, as one of the rivers is perfect for relaxing and floating along. If it's available, I'd also suggest paying extra for the optional helicopter ride—it was definitely worth it for the incredible views. Don't forget a camera or make sure your phone is charged because there are so many great photo opportunities. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour!
Dave and David did a great job. Plenty of info, felt like a real 4wd experience and great to see dingos and whales. Plane recommended
After 1.5 hours of travel by bus and ferry, we arrived in K'gari, boarded the 4WD bus, and the adventurous journey began. For a long time, we drove on very narrow and bumpy roads through the rainforest. Anyone prone to motion sickness should definitely take a tablet beforehand! 😉 I would also only conditionally recommend this tour to people with spine problems. The experienced driver David told us everything important about the island. We drove to a freshwater lake where swimming was possible, and we were provided with cookies and drinks. Lunch was served buffet-style and was delicious and plentiful. Then we drove along the beach. We saw dingoes, a shipwreck, a creek, the spout of several whales, and a plane that used the beach at low tide as a runway. The journey itself was an experience! Then back through the rainforest to the ferry. The driver David drives very safely through all the potholes, explains well, and good music plays in the background. We were on the road for over 12 hours in total and quite tired.
My partner and I went on the 1 day tour and we had David as our guide for the day, he was incredible and we enjoyed his knowledge of the island and his dad jokes along the way! The highlight of the whole day for us was seeing a ton of whales breaching as we were driving along the 75mile beach! And we also came across about 6 dingoes which was cool to see. The price for the day tour was well worth it, we really enjoyed the complimentary lunch and even went back for seconds! The little gift shop was a great place to get a little magnet to remember the day aswell. We had a full bus as it was school holidays, but it never put a dampener on the day at all. The day tour was best for learning about history and facts of the island and to see some of the main attractions. We will definitely return in the future to see more of what the island has to offer.

We had a great day visiting K’Gari (Frazer Island). Pick up was timely, crossing smooth and we got to see bottle nosed dolphins (bonus). Due to tide times we ventured through the subtropical forest to the beach highway to visit a freshwater creek, ship wreck before lunch. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. Taylah was lovely and very knowledgeable about the history, animals and plants and Mike was a good considerate driver, having to navigate one way passing points and bumpy sand dunes. It was interesting and beautiful, I would highly recommend it.

Sit at the front of the bus. Wear shorts or pants you can roll up or get wet. It’s still warm enough to swim (if you are 20 something).
