Il sentiero sterrato che traccia il bordo del cratere Sete Cidades è una caratteristica iconica di questo paesaggio mozzafiato delle Azzorre. Si snoda lungo il bordo di questa massiccia caldera vulcanica, il sentiero offre alcuni dei panorami più spettacolari e ricercati delle Azzorre. Questo sentiero non asfaltato varia in larghezza e condizioni, offrendo un'esperienza escursionistica più naturale e accidentata rispetto alle strade asfaltate. Mentre lo segui, il panorama si dispiega continuamente. Da un lato si estende la vasta distesa del fondo craterico, spesso avvolto nella nebbia o nel patchwork con verdi pascoli. Dall’altro, la drammatica discesa rivela i due leggendari laghi – il verde vibrante Lagoa Verde e il blu profondo Lagoa Azul – potenzialmente uniti da una sottile striscia di terra o acqua, a seconda della stagione e del punto di vista.

Our Full-Day Jeep Tour of Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo was one of the highlights of our trip to the Azores! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, but what made the experience truly exceptional was our tour guide, Jose. Jose was the perfect representative for both the tour company and the island of São Miguel. His knowledge of the island’s history, culture, geology, and natural beauty was incredible, and he shared it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. It was clear how deeply he cares about preserving this amazing place for future generations, and his passion for conservation added so much meaning to the tour. Throughout the day, Jose made sure everyone was comfortable, answered every question with enthusiasm, and took us to spectacular viewpoints that we never would have found on our own. His pride in the island was contagious, and by the end of the tour we had an even greater appreciation for the people, landscapes, and efforts to protect this special destination. If you’re visiting São Miguel, don’t hesitate to book this tour—and if you’re lucky enough to have Jose as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. Five stars all the way!

This company/trip was recommended by someone we met at the airport. They said it was a must. So we booked! From the moment Goncalo picked us up to the moment he dropped us off - it was an amazing adventure. The weather was not the greatest and we weren’t sure how it was going to be. Goncalo was able to pivot and make sure we had a good time and catch all the sights we could. Regardless of the heavy fog and rain, the day was EPIC. If you are worried about the weather- don’t. The guides are fantastic and tailor the day around the weather so you still see a lot of the Azores. We had an absolutely amazing day on the Full Day Jeep Tour with Eduardo! The tour was filled with breathtaking views, hidden gems around the island, and delicious local food where you could truly taste the love and care put into every meal.
