Assaggeremo i vini e visiteremo la bellissima cascata di Chantara e sulla via del ritorno faremo una sosta per fare il bagno nella "pietra di Afrodite" dove, secondo la leggenda, la dea dell'amore e della bellezza è nata e si è arenata.

La diga di Asprokremmos è la seconda diga più grande di Cipro. È costruito a un'altitudine di circa 100 m sul livello del mare. È considerata una zona umida importante per gli uccelli endemici e migratori
Sicuramente il ponte più conosciuto dell'isola. La sua popolarità è dovuta al fatto che è il più grande ponte di pietra mai costruito a Cipro e attraversa il fiume Diarizos. Trovato in una zona ricca di vegetazione verde, l'area della foresta che la circonda è bellissima e ha vari luoghi naturali da esplorare.
La cascata di Hantara deriva il suo nome dalla parola "anatra" che significa "rumore dell'acqua". L'acqua della cascata cade violentemente da un'altezza di otto metri che rotola sul gavro, che è una delle rocce principali della zona e forma alla sua base un piccolo stagno. Situato in mezzo alla campagna, è circondato da alberi, platani, edera, pini, querce dorate, sommacco, corbezzoli, cisto, salvia e lavanda, regalando agli ospiti meravigliosi profumi.

Il monastero di Kykkos è uno dei monasteri più ricchi e conosciuti di Cipro. Il Santo Monastero della Vergine di Kykkos fu fondato verso la fine dell'XI secolo dall'imperatore bizantino Alessio I Komnenos
È una destinazione popolare per chi ama il vino fatto in casa, passeggiare per le antiche strade, visitare le tradizionali case rurali che sono state trasformate in musei e fare shopping per l'arte e l'artigianato originali (ad es. Gioielli in argento, oggetti in vetro, merletti, dolci e famosi pretzel Arkatena). L'attrazione principale del villaggio è il monastero della True Cross, che ospita un pezzo della True Cross insieme ad altre reliquie.

We saw a bunch of different sites which was neat. Tour guide gave us a decent amount of time to explore each site. I wish we had had more time to explore the beach at the end though — would’ve been nice to see the sunset til the end. The reason this tour gets 4 stars instead of 5 is bc the vehicle was not comfortable. It’s a jeep but the back is two long benches so you’re facing the other half of the group at all times. You basically bump around the back (though there are pipe things above so you can hold them) the whole time as well — it’s particularly rough on the off-road parts. There’s nowhere to lay your head if you want to doze between sites. Would be better if they had small buses or split us into actual jeeps or something.

All day trip in a 10 seat Land Cruiser. Interesting ,amusing driver/guide, Phil. Wonderful panoramic views. beautiful forest roads , twisty, rockstrewn tracks all handled with great skill .

Great day out and not too hard going if your fitness level is a bit low. We were taken to beautiful locations with rich history, good food and delicious wines! Was outside at the meeting point, one jeep came for another family from our hotel and told us we would be the next ones. Waited and waited but nothing came. As stated in the email, we called the jeep company as it was over 10 mins late. No answer from them. Called the tour operator who eventually got in contact with the jeep company. I was then told the jeep company messed up and we weren’t down on the list at all! We had waited outside for 45 mins to then be told no one was coming and we were offered a change of day or excursion to which I said no as we go home on Friday. To say I’m not happy would be an understatement. I have been told my refund will arrive in a few days but it doesn’t make up for the fact that we had booked this tour to explore with our children who are now extremely disappointed.

Great trip, bad communication by tour company. Delayed start as no name of the company collecting me was provided. After checking with several jeeps turning up at my hotel one driver helped by calling the third party tour company. After waiting 20 minutes past my collection time I was picked up and did have a very enjoyable day visiting lots of sites. One simply thing in providing the details of who I was waiting for would have helped get the day off to a much better start.

It was an alright trip overall. However, for my taste, we spent a bit too much time at places that seemed more like “partners” of the safari, such as the winery, the food stop, and the village. The dam was also a very mild start to the day, with not much to see. Also, be prepared for the jeep experience. While we saw several vehicles with regular forward-facing seats, ours had us sitting facing each other, which got a bit uncomfortable during the longer drives. The guide was friendly, but I didn’t feel like we experienced each stop to its fullest. After chatting with another couple, it turned out their tour included more interactive moments, like stopping at banana plantations, picking fruit, and learning fun facts. Compared to that, our tour felt like the bare minimum or just slightly above it.
