Piazza Merdeka è un punto focale per la città di Giacarta che ha molti edifici governativi come l'ufficio del ministero, l'ufficio presidenziale e persino il punto di riferimento di Giacarta (monumento nazionale) situato nel mezzo di piazza Merdeka.
Visita il Monumento Nazionale che si trova nel mezzo di Merdeka Square è un monumento alto 132 metri con una fiamma a foglia d'oro in cima, che simboleggia l'indipendenza della nazione. Questo è uno dei punti salienti della città di Giacarta. Il seminterrato del monumento ospita una mostra di 48 diorami raffiguranti la storia dell'Indonesia dalla preistoria ad oggi. (Ogni lunedì il Monumento Nazionale è chiuso. È possibile visitare solo l'area esterna del monumento).
Situata a Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, la Cattedrale costruita in stile gotico risale al 1891. Ha un'alta torre con alte finestre decorate con dipinti su vetro. All'interno della chiesa si trovano 3 altari che insieme formano un semicerchio. Ha anche un bellissimo altare antico che riflette il suono come una conchiglia.
La moschea Istiqlal a Giacarta, in Indonesia, è la più grande moschea del sud-est asiatico e la sesta moschea più grande del mondo in termini di capacità di fedeli. Istiqlal, che in arabo significa "Indipendenza". Situata nel centro della città, quasi di fronte alla Cattedrale Nazionale, la Moschea vuole anche essere un simbolo di pace e tolleranza religiosa. This was a great way to see Jakarta. Our guide accommodated our schedule and pace. It made the tour much more leisurely.
Fitri was lovely! She was so friendly and very knowledgeable about Jakarta and Indonesia’s history. She was happy to answer all our questions and chose very interesting places for is to see. By the end of the trip, she felt like family. We highly recommend her. Thank you for a job well done!

We went with very little expectations because we didn't think there was much to see in the city. But our guide, Catherine, did a superb job sharing lots of interesting information and history about Jakarta and the country in general. The entire experience was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommend for a good overview of this country and city.

Excellent trip. The food was fantastic. Fresh, clean and so tasty. Nice mix of street and restaurant food. Won’t normally eat food street food but I had no hesitation in trying all the dishes
