Nello storico castello di Dalkey (1390), attori in costume di storia vivente portano la storia antica in vita colorata con tiro con l'arco, chirurgia da barbiere e un cuoco che tiene una lezione di perfezionamento sull'economia circolare (niente veniva sprecato) in epoca medievale, come parte di ogni visita guidata. Il tour include anche l'esplorazione della suggestiva chiesa e del cimitero di St Begnet del X secolo collegati al sito. Il centro storico è incluso anche con schermi interattivi in diverse lingue e modelli in scala. Una Galleria degli Scrittori presenta pannelli interattivi del lavoro di 45 artisti creativi collegati a livello locale, da James Joyce a Bono e da Samuel Beckett a Maeve Binchy. It was a nice experience, live actors were fun. Tour guide was good too, perhaps the weather was rainy, slightly difficult to hear. In all worth the visit !

Perfect length, group size and guides. They really put their hearts into the acting and made it fun/interactive/educational. My kids (6 and 9) will remember this forever. Their first castle experience! We actually arrived a bit late so I was ready to be turned away but the front desk staff brought us into the room where the tour was happening so we were still able to join. Very steep and narrow stairs at some points- dangerous for those not able to climb or not stable on their feet. I believe some older guests were given an alternative route from our group but they may have missed one part of the tour.

We had a wonderful time getting quickly into character with the arrival of the barber the initial activity of munting a coin with the children was a great idea.staff were exceptionally patient with the children. This is not a boring museum and apart from the initial room there is no information to read making it child friendly. All the characters were fantastic and the information was given in a way that my daughter was able to remember later on due to story telling. The rest of the staff were also wonderful. A lovely moment that left me wanting to hear more. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

As Invaders from the North side of Dublin we loved the tour of the castle and all the fun of the interactive visit. We returned to our side of the city very happy with our insight into Dalkey Castle!

The actors were fun and friendly and really brought the castle to life. I found the video showing how the castle was built was very informative and showed why the structure was the way it was.
