Wonderful tour of the island by Filipe. Wife and I did a two day private tour, one day to the west and other day to the east. Never ran short on things to see. Filipe provided great advice, history and knowledge of the area, and able to adapt tour to meet our interests and needs. Especially for chosing straighter roads with regular stops, for avoiding motion sickness. Highly recommended approach to exploring beautiful island.

From the very first moment it was clear that this is not a standard guided tour: Filipe listened carefully to our interests and physical abilities and designed a tailor-made itinerary just for us. He suggested the Janela do Inferno trekking route — stunning, well-paced, and completely off the beaten tourist path. From there, he guided us along unpaved roads to discover hidden miradouros with panoramic views that left us speechless, then down to the beach of Ribeira Grande and finally to a wonderful traditional pineapple plantation. Throughout the entire day Filipe shared his deep knowledge of the island: the history, the volcanic geology, the unique local vegetation, the Azorean traditions. Never overwhelming — always engaging and perfectly timed. Professionalism, warmth, flexibility and genuine love for São Miguel: Filipe has it all. An unforgettable day. Book him. Filipe was a fantastic tour guide and equally amazing person. We toured with him for 2 days and he went above and beyond to show our family as much as possible. We highly recommend using him when visiting Sao Miguel. If we are lucky enough to come back to the Azores, we will definitely be contacting Filipe again.

MUST DO ACTIVITY!!!! Felipe is, without question, the best tour guide in all of the Azores. We spent an incredible day exploring São Miguel with him in his Jeep, and it exceeded every expectation. From exciting off-road adventures to some of the most breathtaking, picturesque views I’ve ever seen, every moment of the tour was unforgettable. What truly sets Felipe apart is his passion for the Azores. Born and raised on the island, he has an incredible depth of knowledge about its history, culture, industries, and natural beauty. He shares that knowledge in a way that’s engaging, genuine, and never overwhelming. You can tell how much he loves these islands, and that enthusiasm makes the experience even more special. Beyond being an outstanding guide, Felipe is simply a great person to spend the day with. He’s friendly, easygoing, and incredibly easy to talk to. The conversation flowed naturally all day, making the experience feel less like a tour and more like exploring with a knowledgeable local friend. There is far too much to see in São Miguel in a single day, but Felipe made sure we experienced as much as possible. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly to anyone visiting the Azores. When I come back—and I absolutely will—booking another tour with Felipe will be one of the first things I do. There are still so many parts of the island I want to see, and I wouldn’t want to explore them with anyone else.

Our day with Felipe was the best! His local knowledge of history, geology, fauna and sea life is exceptional. And his patience and flexibility made our time with him super easy and comfortable. Every meal was exceptional! We enjoyed our time with him so much the first day touring the eastern part of São Miguel that we signed on for a second day to see the western side. Will definitely be back and will book with him again!

We had an incredible experience with Azores by locals. Our guide didn’t just show us the island — they made us understand it. The culture, history, and natural beauty came to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and took a day trip to Nordeste and surrounding areas with Felipe. He is an excellent, very knowledgeable guide that makes you feel at ease and can answer all your questions and provide valuable tips and insights. While exploring the beautiful spots we discussed history, culture, geology, flora, fauna, cultural and culinary aspects of Azores and many other things. There was no question that Felipe could not answer. Would not hesitate to recommend Felipe and tour with him again.
