Ti porteremo in un mix di luoghi preferiti, con degustazioni generose, un po 'di bevute di un giorno e racconti appena sufficienti lungo la strada. Fondata più di 10 anni fa dall'amore di un locale per Santa Barbara, l'ottimo cibo e l'unione delle persone, senza lo stress di pianificare tutto da soli. Vivrai la città insieme a un host locale esperto, non a una Guida turistica scritta. Le dimensioni dei gruppi sono mantenute più piccole per un'esperienza più personale e sociale. Possiamo accogliere la maggior parte delle allergie alimentari con preavviso. Sono disponibili tour privati e aziendali. El Paseo è più di un edificio: è un'atmosfera e un mini quartiere nascosto appena fuori State Street. Mentre cammini, troverai affascinanti sentieri che si aprono in un bellissimo cortile circondato da attività commerciali locali, tra cui sale di degustazione di vini, ristoranti ed edifici storici risalenti ai primi anni '20. Questa è una delle nostre fermate di degustazione (spesso la prima), dove potrai gustare una degustazione guidata di vini (tipicamente 3-4 vini) insieme a una scatola di pascolo condivisa, servita solo per il tuo gruppo.
Passiamo davanti alla storica Casa de la Guerra mentre condividiamo alcune storie luminose sul passato di Santa Barbara, quel tanto che basta per dare vita all’ambiente circostante senza rallentare l’esperienza.
Il Tribunale di Santa Barbara è uno dei monumenti più belli della città, noto per la sua architettura e i panorami. Quando i tempi e l'accesso lo consentono, potremmo entrare per dare un'occhiata. In caso contrario, attraverseremo comunque l'area, e siete invitati a tornare dopo il tour, poiché si trova tra i nostri punti di partenza e di arrivo. Siete pregati di notare che nei giorni feriali è richiesto lo screening di sicurezza per entrare in tribunale. Se hai un dispositivo medico come una pompa per diabetici, avvisa la sicurezza e ti guideranno attraverso lo screening appropriato.
Il Teatro Granada è uno dei punti di riferimento più iconici del centro di Santa Barbara e l'edificio più alto della zona. Ci fermiamo qui per ammirare la sua architettura e la sua storia, e condividere un po’ del suo ruolo nella scena artistica locale. Anche se non entriamo durante il tour, è comunque una sosta eccezionale lungo il percorso.
Passiamo accanto all’iconico Arlington Theatre, noto punto di riferimento di Santa Barbara e spesso sede della serata di apertura dello SBIFF (Santa Barbara International Film Festival). È un passaggio veloce mentre ci dirigiamo verso la nostra prossima fermata, con una storia leggera o due lungo la strada - è stato divertente e facile, non una lezione di storia.
Il centro di Santa Barbara è pieno di passerelle nascoste e portici, e quando il tempo lo consente, ci piace snodarci attraverso alcuni di loro lungo la strada. Mentre attraversiamo La Arcada Plaza, ti indicheremo ristoranti locali, sale degustazione di vini e piccoli negozi nascosti in questi spazi, insieme a dettagli divertenti come la famosa statua del lavavetri, la statua di Benjamin Franklin, sculture di delfini e persino alcune tartarughe sorprendentemente adorabili. È un mix di luoghi locali, scoperte inaspettate e piccoli dettagli che potresti perdere da solo.
El Presidio è uno dei siti storici più antichi di Santa Barbara e parte di come la città ha preso forma per la prima volta. Se il nostro percorso lo consente, passeremo di qui e condivideremo un po’ di come si collega alla Missione di Santa Barbara, quanto basta per dare un contesto senza trasformarlo in una lezione di storia completa.
Durante il tour, ci intrecciamo dentro e fuori State Street, il cuore del centro di Santa Barbara, mentre ci spostiamo tra le fermate. Di solito ci incontriamo e finiamo proprio su State Street, quindi è facile continuare la giornata, prendere un altro drink o dirigersi ovunque tu sia.

There was plenty of food and drink with a good variety. The pace was good and Kirk was an excellent host. Do not eat before as you will be full

The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Food was not up to what I have had on every other food tour I have been on.(6) Shared portions instead of individual servings. Food was bland, except for Italian ice. Pours on wine were less than I have previously experienced.

The tour was cancelled the night before by the tour company. They said two of the restaurants on the tour closed unexpectedly. My thoughts are there are a lot of restaurants on State Street. Still waiting on the refund to my credit card.

This was both an educational and a food tour. Learned a lot about Santa Barbara that I did not know. Started the tour off with a fabulous wine tasting. Absolutely beautiful Bordeaux wines were tasted. The food on the tour was delicious especially the goat taco. Well, maybe the noodles were a little bland but can be easily spiced up. Captain Kirk was a lively guide who truly enjoys what he’s doing. He loves Santa Barbara and it shows in all his stories about this the charming town.
