The town was quaint but the rose garden was no better than my own garden. The tour boat coming home was not a tour boat but the local ferry that stopped in ten towns to drop off and pick up passengers going to Zurich. It was very deceptive to pretend it was a boat tour.
We regret that we did not meet your expectations, but would like to clarify the following: After the city tour of Zurich with explanations of the most important sights, we drive along Lake Zurich on the Höhenstrasse, which offers a panoramic view of Lake Zurich, then over the dam and bridge to Rapperswil, a small town with a picturesque old town with a castle, deer park and rose gardens, which have given Rapperswil the name ‘City of Roses’. Nature is dependent on the weather, and in fact we have had a drop in temperature and rain over the last 10 days, which has not been good for the rose gardens as we move into the autumn season. The weather would also affect the roses in your garden. The 2 1/4 hour boat trip included in the tour takes you from the upper end of Lake Zurich down to Bürkliplatz in the city of Zurich. Yes, it is a course boat that stops at several stops along the lake, which has the advantage of bringing you closer to the small villages and giving you a good view of the wine-growing areas on the right side of Lake Zurich, known as the Gold Coast.
The boat and bus tour was divine! Jeanine our tour guide was a delight! The old town was interesting and had many shopping and dining options. The scenery during the boat ride was incredible. Just a note, you are on your own during the boat ride. Jeanine and the others continue on another tour.
Was not up to expectations although the tour guide lady was sweet but the tour office people were not as helpful. However I don’t recommend it
The guide needed better English language skillls and the Zürich tour was very limited for interesting information. The overall experience was disappointing
As mentioned in other reviews, this is not really a city tour of Zurich. We simply flew by Zurich landmarks on a big coach bus without really stopping. You're just driving by on the way to Rapperswil, a lovely small village on the upper part of Lake Zurich. The drive is nice, though, as you can see great sights is the lake from above as you make your way to Rapperswil. The boat ride back has several stops, and doesn't have any type of tour associated with it. Plan accordingly. It takes 2 hours to make your way back to Zurich if you choose to return via this ferry method. While it wasn't a completely lost 4 hours, it was a disappointment we didn't get more of a Zurich tour. "The Great Tour of Zurich" is a misleading title in my opinion. If you're wanting more of a Zurich city center tour this one is NOT it.
While it was a nice day, it was not at all as advertised. It was a bus ride THROUGH Zurich(as the rest of the bus was headed to Lichtenstein) with very little info from a lovely guide whose English was only marginal. We stopped in Rapperswil, that was nice and then the lake "cruise" was the regular ferry back to Zurich on which we had 2nd class tickets. We did 4 trip advisor booked trips this vacation and all fit this description: poor details, guides don't speak English well, basically could have done ourselves. A tip, we did do Dachau ourselves and saved a lot of money.
This was a good tour. I would recommend one to go. The only feedback I have is for those who take the boat option is you have to get your own transportation back to the original location vs those who did the bus only option. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.
The view were amazing we took a lot pictures and videos, nice weather, beautiful places, the tour company was extraordinary, must take again
This tour provided a wonderful overview of the city of Zurich and some of the surrounding areas. Our guide Hans was both informative and comedic as well.
The most impressing experience besides all of the fabulous sights of Zuerich were the professional and courteous attitude of the staff and the driver. Great job!
