Questa pluripremiata avventura per piccoli gruppi di Radventures inizia con uno straordinario viaggio da Banff, avvistando la fauna selvatica e scoprendo la sua ricca storia indigena ed europea.
Ampiamente considerata la strada panoramica più panoramica del mondo, la Icefields Parkway è punteggiata da oltre 100 antichi ghiacciai, cascate, spettacolari guglie rocciose e laghi color smeraldo incastonati in ampie valli di fitte foreste di pini e larici. Il lago Peyto, alimentato dal ghiacciaio, dalla forma incredibile, è uno dei laghi più visitati e fotografati delle Montagne Rocciose canadesi per una buona ragione. Durante l'estate, la farina di roccia glaciale scorre nel lago e queste particelle di roccia sospese conferiscono al lago il suo colore turchese brillante. Faremo una facile passeggiata per vedere il lago dal Bow Summit, a 2.088 metri (6.800 piedi) sul livello del mare. Bow Summit è il punto più alto della Icefields Parkway ed è l'elevazione più alta attraversata da una strada pubblica in Canada.
Proprio come suggerisce il nome, questi ghiacciai o “campi di ghiaccio” si trovano a cavallo del Parco Nazionale di Banff e del Parco Nazionale di Jasper e sono i più grandi a sud del Circolo Polare Artico! Hanno una superficie di 325 km quadrati e una profondità da 100 a 365 metri (da 328 a 1.197 piedi) e ricevono fino a sette metri (275 pollici) di nevicate all'anno. Qui in gruppo possiamo camminare fino ai piedi del ghiacciaio in ritirata ed esplorare la zona, seguendo il percorso di ritiro dei ghiacciai nel corso degli anni. Tieni presente che questo tour non include il viaggio in autobus Pursuit Skywalk o Icefields Adventure. Invece, mostriamo ai nostri ospiti i segreti locali e i punti di vista dei ghiacciai attraverso il semplice sistema di sentieri, sfuggendo alla folla e offrendoti un'esperienza più sostenibile e autentica. Gli ospiti che desiderano rinunciare alla breve escursione alla punta del ghiacciaio sono invitati a usufruire delle strutture in loco e delle attività coinvolgenti presso il Columbia Icefields Center fino a quando il resto del gruppo non termina l'escursione.
Il Bow Lake blu neon è la sorgente del Bow River, quella grande bellezza di un fiume che vedrai scorrere attraverso Lake Louise, Banff, Calgary e in tutto il paese fino a raggiungere la Baia di Hudson nell'est del Canada ! Il lago costeggia la Icefields Parkway ed è un luogo perfetto per fare una passeggiata lungo la riva del lago per vedere il ghiacciaio Crowfoot, Wapta Icefield, Bow Glacier, Crowfoot Mountain e Mount Thompson.

Awesome experience. Glacier was great. Nolan our guide was amazing. We saw bears and even a grizzly about 5 feet from our van!! Highly recommend

Epic lakes and glaciers coupled with outstanding knowledge from Liam make our day, certainly one to remember!!! Each and every lake was different to look at keeping the tour interesting for our teenage boys. If only we had more time and money, we’d book more RADVENTURES. Bee was an absolutely fantastic guide for our Iceways tour! She started the day with the best energy and enthusiasm and never let up as broke up the trip with multiple fun stops, showing us lesser known (and less crowded) vantage points, making impromptu stops for bear sightings (x4!), and sharing so much knowledge about the landscape and wildlife. She kept our 4 kids (ages 5-12) completely engaged the whole time; they said they learned more from Bee than from their entire year of science classes. We actually missed her the rest of our trip, when we were navigating other Banff sites alone. I would not hesitate to book this tour!
Four bear sightings, four kids completely engaged all day and still missing B after the tour was over. That's the mark of something genuinely special. She brings that level of energy and care to every single tour and it's wonderful to hear it landed so powerfully for the whole family.
