Excellent local guide Anh walked us through Hue covering traditional Hue food but, just as importantly, local history and culture. Wonderful experience but be prepared for lots of walking! Thanks Anh for a great night. Highly recommended.

The rain was sheeting in sideways a few minutes before the tour was due to start and, honestly, I wondered whether we should cancel or maybe fall back to ordering a taxi to go from place to place, then Anh turned up in his car and said he’d be driving us, the first of many pleasant surprises. A former chef he knows his city and its cuisine but he’s also possessed of a deep interest in foreign cultures and was keen to talk about our other travels and the foods we’d eaten. He’s obviously a very smart guy, and deeply knowledgeable about the culture and history of Hue, making him not just a great guide but great company for the evening. We had four stops, including one for salt coffee, which made for three large meals. A little tip, start this tour with an empty tummy and big appetite. You’ll need it. The food was awesome, but just as nice was the gentle instruction on how to eat it. That’s often one of the unspoken stresses or eating in a new place – how do I even do this? By the end of the night we were full and groaning, but we had a list of places to return and dishes to try. Well worth your time and money.

Our street food tour with Anh was fantastic. We got to know delicious food that we probably wouldn’t have tried without Anh. Anh explained exactly what ingredients are used and how they are eaten for each dish. Ahn is a very pleasant, friendly and funny person who could tell us a lot about other topics as well. We can recommend this tour with Anh to anyone and would love to do it again directly.

We had a great time tasting delicious local foods in Hue with Anh. Riding on the back of scooter was great way to see night beauty of Hue. Choices of foods were interesting and plentiful servings were provided at each stop, so come with appetite! Thank you for great experience!

Can’t thank Anh enough for this tour. It was such good value for money. He has a distinct passion for the food in Hue, and took us round his favourite spots, and provided expert details on all the dishes we were served: the salted coffee was a personal highlight. Inbetween meals, he gave a guided tour of the city, with an in depth knowledge of the area, and this history of Vietnam in general. I also want to mention that we done this tour during a monsoon, and the 4 of us trudged through knee deep water with smiles on our faces the entire time, you cannot fault his commitment or passion for his work. Hue really is a food capital of Vietnam, and if you are considering experiencing it for yourself, do yourself a favour and go through Hue Cooking Class.

Do not miss this tour. Anh & friends are dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable AND very friendly. You’ll have a glimpse of the best food the beautiful city of Hue has to offer - from salty coffee to che, crispy crepes and scrumptious lemongrass pork roll -and everything in between :) In the meantime, you’ll meet with Anh and have the opportunity to satisfy your curiosity on Vietnam’s politics, education, culture. Last minute reserved and out with a very sweet Vietnamese young lady who took us to five delicious eateries. Very nice to chat with her about the food, but also about other Vietnamese traditions. Really recommended to book!

Great tour with excellent food. You stop at different places to try the local hue cousine. The guide spoke very good english. I highly recommend it.
