I Cửu Vị Thần Công (Nove cannoni dinastici) furono fusi durante il regno dell'imperatore Gia Long nel 1803, completati nel 1804. Questi cannoni in bronzo non sono solo di significativa importanza storica, ma sono anche un picco nell'arte vietnamita della fusione del bronzo. I loro intagli intricati e la fusione di alta qualità evidenziano il valore artistico del XIX secolo in Vietnam.
La torre della bandiera Hue (Kỳ Đài ) è un sito storico dove si sono svolti i principali eventi durante la dinastia Nguyen, tra cui cerimonie per feste, celebrazioni e annunci pubblici. Questo sito è parte integrante della comprensione della vita imperiale di Hue e dei costumi della dinastia Nguyen.
Come porta principale della Città Imperiale, la Porta Ngo Mon era esclusivamente per l'imperatore e l'entourage reale. La sua architettura unica ha resistito alla prova del tempo e della guerra, rendendola un simbolo del passato imperiale di Hue.
Il Palazzo Thai Hoa, noto anche come Palazzo della Suprema Armonia, è il palazzo più importante della Città Imperiale. Servì come sede di importanti cerimonie imperiali e fu la sede del trono dell'imperatore. Questo palazzo è un simbolo chiave dell'autorità reale della dinastia Nguyen.
Costruite tra il 1835 e il 1837 sotto il regno dell'imperatore Minh Mang, le Nove Urne Dinastiche sono monumentali strutture in bronzo. Ogni urna è alta 2,3 metri e pesa tra 1,9 e 2,6 tonnellate. Queste urne, decorate con immagini intricate, riflettono la visione cosmica del mondo e le credenze umane dell'epoca.
Costruito nel 1804, Thế Miếu era un luogo di culto per gli imperatori Nguyen e le loro regine. Onora anche i grandi funzionari che hanno contribuito al regno dei signori Nguyen, rendendolo un sito essenziale per comprendere la storia reale del Vietnam
La Città Proibita Viola rappresenta il più alto livello di autorità all'interno della Città Imperiale, riservato esclusivamente all'imperatore e alla sua famiglia reale. Essendo il terzo livello della Città Imperiale, era un luogo dove solo l'imperatore e il suo seguito potevano entrare, simboleggiando l'autorità reale.
Il Palazzo Kien Trung, costruito nel 1923 durante il regno dell'imperatore Khai Dinh, era la residenza degli ultimi due imperatori della dinastia Nguyen, Khai Dinh e Bao Dai. Questo palazzo è un simbolo dell’ultimo capitolo del dominio imperiale della dinastia Nguyen.
Truong Lang (Corridoio lungo): Il Truong Lang, un sistema di lunghi corridoi all'interno della Città Viola Proibita, facilitava la comunicazione e il movimento all'interno del palazzo. Illustra la divisione spaziale e la struttura organizzativa della Città Imperiale.
Sala della Pace (Thai Binh Lau) Thai Binh Palace è un rifugio tranquillo per l'imperatore per riposare, riflettere e comporre poesie. Questa sala riflette il bisogno dell'imperatore di uno spazio tranquillo per la riflessione personale in mezzo alla grandezza della vita imperiale.
Il Teatro Reale fu uno dei quattro costruiti durante la dinastia Nguyen per spettacoli culturali. Forniva uno spazio per l'espressione artistica e arricchiva la vita spirituale della corte imperiale.
Porta di Hien Nhon Situata sul lato orientale della Città Imperiale, la Porta di Hien Nhon fu costruita nel 1805 e successivamente ristrutturata sotto i regni degli imperatori Minh Mang e Khai Dinh. Considerata la più bella delle 13 porte della Città Imperiale, è rinomata per i suoi squisiti intagli e decorazioni.

We took this tour with an excellent guide named Trrin, who was very friendly and professional, and moreover, had great English (which is not entirely common in Vietnam). He showed us the main buildings and monuments, telling us about the history of the empire and the emperors in a very interesting way. He also suggested two excellent cafes in Huè where we went to have coffee with salt and coconut.
The tour fully met our expectations. We were very pleased and felt very comfortable. The group size was also very pleasant.

From start to finish this trip was outstanding. Sorry I have forgotten the tour guides name but the lady was excellent, explained everything in great detail with a sense of humour. Its a great way to see the Imperial City with added extras, such as visiting the family restaurant and eating traditional food.

Very interesting for Vietnam history. It is a bit of a walk however very fascinating. Before we had no knowledge of the country now we have some interesting history.

We booked this at the last minute having just arrived on the night bus. Even though it was a late booking we received all the details really quickly and in time for the 8.30 start. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable and gave us a fascinating insight into the history of the Vietnamese royal families. She pitched it at a good level which was really easy to take on board. Her English was also excellent too. We would highly recommend this tour.

A reasonable amount of walking and uneven steps which were difficult for me and my 60+ year old sister who is quite unfit. The guide was enthusiastic and had a lot of information to impart - probably more than I thought was necessary. My husband however, thought that the tour was excellent.
We had a great tour of the Imperial Citadel in Hue with our guide, Nhien. By chance it turned into a private tour, which made it even more relaxed. Nhien was very knowledgeable and pointed out details we would have easily missed on our own — from feng shui elements and number symbolism to interesting pieces of Vietnamese history. A friendly, clear and pleasant guide. Definitely recommended.
