This was an amazing tour that I would highly recommend. Adventure and Cultural Tours was so helpful in coordinating the pickup of some of our family from the cruise ship and some from a hotel. Gillian, our driver and guide was fantastic! She gave wonderful narrative of the beautiful area. The snacks were delicious especially the homemade brownies. The Hobbiton Tour exceeded our expectations! We had an excellent guide and it was so much fun to see all the cute hobbit homes and walk through one! The Green Dragon Inn had excellent beverages and food. The stop at McLaren Falls was also beautiful. Gillian made sure we got back to the ship in plenty of time for our departure. It was an amazing day!

I booked this tour 2 days before and had a great time. Met new friends from the same cruise ship as I and hung out with them. Our driver/guide, Amanda provided excellent information about Tauranga, the waterfalls and Hobbiton. With superb driving skills, we arrived at the movie set with plenty of time to browse through the gift shop and grab a bite to eat before our scheduled tour. She also made brownies for us during our snack/restroom break by a lake and saw these beautiful black swans. Overall, it was an exhilarating experience and the price was right for this 6 hour adventure.

Tour was absolutely brilliant fr start to finish. Amanda met us just outside cruise port gates, then took us to a beautiful park where she provided snacks, water and homemade brownies. We weee then taken to McLaren falls which were spectacular due to heavy rain on previous days. On to Hobiton movie set which exceeded all expectations . Finally retd to ship in plenty of time. Amanda helped making it an unforgettable experience. Even the weather played ball

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide/driver, Gillian was wonderful, and even provided snacks and water. Even though we departed a little late due to people not showing up, we still had plenty of time to enjoy Hobbiton as well as sites along the way. Our guide at Hobbiton, Brad, was amazing. He was very entertaining and had an extensive knowledge of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books and movies. Although this tour was pricey, I feel that it was money well spent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our transportation from Tauranga to Hobbiton and back. Next time we are in the area, we will use this same service to explore Rotorua.

Came off the cruise ship and we were met right there! Super easy and so nice to be in a smaller group than the excursion groups and at half the price too. The WiFi on the van was a nice surprise and use it to download it the Hobbiton app so you’re all ready upon arrival. What a fun day. Our guide was informative, super sweet and accommodating in every way. We left on time and arrived back 10 minutes early. Highly recommend. Buy your Hobbiton ticket direct on their website.

Allan picked us up at the exact spot that was described and proceeded to show us a beach community and a beautiful remote park built by the McClaren family on the way to the Hobbiton pickup port. He was an interesting a friendly guy and shared much about life in New Zealand with us. He promptly met us at the end of the tour for the ride home that included another picture stop. We have taken about 100 shore excursions and this one is the best.

Very interactive experience with very knowledgeable guide. Amazing views and a must see for any LOTR fans. Definitely recommend!

Hobbiton is great, but to be escorted by a big fan made the whole experience better. She made the trip from Taurange entertaining and enjoyable

It was AWESOME! So well done! Beautiful landscape, Nice controlled flow of people. Nice scenic drive out to site. Nice rest stop at McLaren Falls. Good commentary by our bus driver Amanda. Now you can walk thru a Hobbit house. The attention to detail was incredible. Nice beer at end of tour. Got back to ship in plenty of time. No problems.
