Il Palazzo dell'Indipendenza è stato la base del generale vietnamita Ngo Dinh Diem fino alla sua morte nel 1963. Ha fatto il suo nome nella storia globale nel 1975. Un carro armato appartenente all'esercito vietnamita del nord si è schiantato contro la sua porta principale, ponendo fine alla guerra del Vietnam. Oggi è una visita imperdibile per i turisti di Ho Chi Minh City. Il palazzo è come una capsula del tempo congelata nel 1975. Puoi vedere due dei carri armati originali usati nella cattura del palazzo parcheggiato nel parco. Il Palazzo dell'Indipendenza era la casa e il luogo di lavoro del governatore francese di Cochin-Cina. Ha giardini lussureggianti, stanze segrete, mobili antichi e un bunker di comando. La cattedrale di Notre Dame di Saigon, costruita alla fine del 1880 dai coloni francesi, è una delle poche roccaforti rimaste del cattolicesimo nel Vietnam in gran parte buddista. Situato in Piazza Parigi, il nome Notre Dame fu dato dopo l'installazione della statua "Peaceful Notre Dame" nel 1959. Nel 1962, il Vaticano conferì lo status di Cattedrale come basilica e le diede il nome ufficiale di Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica . Con un'altezza di quasi 60 metri, le caratteristiche neo-romaniche distintive della cattedrale includono la facciata interamente in mattoni rossi (che furono importati da Marsiglia), vetrate colorate, due campanili contenenti sei campane di bronzo che suonano ancora oggi e una pace giardino nel mezzo del centro di Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
L'ufficio postale centrale di Ho Chi Minh è un residuo splendidamente conservato dei tempi coloniali francesi e forse l'ufficio postale più grande di tutto il sud-est asiatico. Il Museo dei resti di guerra di Ho Chi Minh City è stato aperto al pubblico per la prima volta nel 1975. Il mercato di Ben Thanh nel Distretto 1 di Ho Chi Minh City è il luogo ideale per acquistare oggetti di artigianato locale, prodotti di marca, arte vietnamita e altri souvenir. Qui troverai bancarelle alimentari all'interno del mercato dove puoi assaggiare la cucina vietnamita in stile venditore ambulante o semplicemente rinfrescarti con una bevanda fredda quando la contrattazione diventa troppo. Il mercato è grande, a volte difficile da navigare e sicuramente da evitare nella parte più calda della giornata, ma vale comunque la pena dare un'occhiata. Quando scende la notte, i ristoranti intorno al perimetro del mercato aprono le loro porte creando una vibrante scena di strada che riempie l'aria con i profumi di noodles fritti al wok, pesce alla brace e carne. Uno dei monumenti più antichi di Saigon, Ben Thanh offre una fantastica atmosfera assolutamente autenticamente vietnamita.

Very good private tour. We saw all the typical sites including the War Rembrants Museum.Palace, Opera House, Post Office and Ben Thanh market. Hillbilly Jack, our guide, was excellent in working with our limitations and modifying the tour as we requested. He is a personable, friendly and knowledgeable young man who gave us a lot of information on his country. He, and our driver, assisted in moving my husband's wheelchair in and out of the immaculate SUV that was our transport. Lunch was included and it was acceptable. We also had the opportunity to stop for Highlands coffee at a local café but we declined due to time constraints. Overall a great tour, I highly recommend the tour and, especially, Hillbilly Jack, our guide.

From start to finish the experience was exceptional. Hillbilly Jack, our tour guide, made sure we knew exactly where to meet him and his driver. We were provided with interesting facts about Vietnam and were free to ask questions etc. We felt safe and comfortable in our taxi, which was spacious and air conditioned. The journey from port to Saigon took approximately 2 hrs but we were entertained all the time by Hillbilly Jack who had acquired his English-American twang from watching movies. Lunch was provided and was fantastic. All in all we couldn't have asked for more and would highly recommend.

Outstanding tour! Our guide, Loi, was knowledgeable, flexible, and has a wonderful personality and sense of humor. We had a fabulous time with Hillbilly Jack. Very knowledgeable. Gave us great narration on the two hour drive to Ho Chi Minh City. Very accommodating to our requests. Took great photos for our group. Lots to see and do. The included lunch was delicious. Duc the driver was also amazing. In a place where the traffic is next level, he drove us around all day and we felt safe.
