This was an excellent tour with history and ghost stories thrown in. I would recommend to anyone who can walk uphill. I do wish the guide had stopped more often so I could catch my breath. The guide was very knowledgeable and a good story teller. She spent a little extra time at Monumental Church at the request of my book club that had just read a book about the Theater fire that occurred on that location! I would do this tour again or any of the Haunts of Richmond tours.

Very informative tour. Our guide Martha was a wonderful storyteller with a great deal of knowledge about Richmond history and reported hauntings.

The Haunts of Richmond is a must do for the family! Martha was our tour guide and she intermingled historical facts with the ghost stories. It was nice to be outside on a walking tour with the fmaily. We all enjoyed it!

It was our first tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We weren’t ready for the walking but that was our fault not theirs 🤣. Great presentation and humor as well. Will definitely do another tour.

We had high expectations for this tour. We love ghost tours. There is so much history to draw from in this wonderful city. You expect a guide to have command of the basic facts of the city, events, and people they are talking about. Our female guide was all over the place when attempting to present the information at each stop. She actually admitted she couldn't remember dates blaming severe dyslexia for not being able to recall the dates needed to give historical context to her stories. Rarely did she mention names of the people in her stories. She even stated she had forgotten to write down the dates or numbers saying we must think she was unprofessional. She was right on that regard but so wrong for this job. There were nearly 40 people on this tour and she completely dropped the ball. The ghost stories were just that with little historical content or much to make them feel real or interesting. She stopped to tell one story on one of the busiest streets in downtown so it was very hard to hear most of what she said there. Our $20 was a waste of money. Avoid this tour to avoid major disappointment!!
I’m sorry that you feel that you had a poor experience on our tour and that our guide seemed a bit flustered on the evening that you joined us. This guide is a long-term and well regarded member of our team that has received a lot of positive feedback over the last several years. We are very glad to have her as a guide and I assure you that she is very well suited for the position. On top of being open with you about the dyslexia, she was also very open with you during her introduction about being partially deaf. She told the entire group at the beginning of the tour that while she utilizes a microphone, she cannot necessarily hear it well herself and to please let her know if you had trouble hearing her. It makes me a little sad to hear such dismissiveness and impatience towards the hurdles that our guide has overcome to become the excellent guide that she is for us today. Again, I’m sorry that this experience was not up to your expectations. That said, we are looking forward to having a pep talk with our guide and getting her back out on the tours to give our future guests the excellent experience that so many of our previous guests have enjoyed over the years.
This is not a haunted tour..its a tour where they tell ghost stories. If you want to powerwalk through Richmond at night and have someone tell you ghost stories...this is the tour for you.

Phenomenal tour. We have been on two od their tours now and thoroughly have enjoyed the blend of history and hauntings. This is hands down the best haunted tours of Richmond. Normally we save ghost tours for when on vacation, but decided to go on Haunts of Richmond tours, and very glad we did! Highly recommended!
