Wonderful experience all round. Maria our tour guide was exceptional & props to the driver for navigating a coach around some of those windy roads with ease. The caves were interesting, Melissani lake was incredibly busy, but enjoyable & the little wine tasting at the end was a fun bonus. The stop off in Agia Effimia was an unexpected highlight, what a beautiful seaside village. For a first timer in Kefalonia, I highly recommend this excursion. I have found out so much about the island, thanks Maria!

I booked this private tour with Kefalonia Excursions a month in advance and prepaid. I confirmed the trip and the time and area of pickup 48-72 hours in advance. The team was responsive and the price was fair. When I arrived at the port in Kefalonia no one was waiting for us. I checked my email which had been spotty and saw that 24 hours in advance they cancelled my excursion after confirming multiple times. They had my phone number and never called, texted or tried me on WhatsApp. Sitting in the port I called and was told the driver got sick and they had no other vans. I asked for recommendations or help and they told me there were lots of other companies and I should try one. When I said I don’t know who is reputable and this is a terrible experience, the operator said, sorry I can’t help you. I was able to re book instantly via Kefalonia tours who gave me a luxury Mercedes van for 20% less than Kefalonia excursions. It was perfect. Great English speaking driver. In fairness, when the owner found out they emailed me and apologized profusely. Not writing this to punish a small business but to share the real experience. I planned an excursion with my 80 year old parents who needed the van and aircon. It was very stressful to be off our cruise/yacht and think we were stranded. I’m sure Kefalonia excursions is a decent company based on their ratings and this was a single poor exierience. That said it was my experience.

We are genuinely sorry that your day did not go as planned and understand how disappointing this must have been, especially when travelling with your elderly parents. We would, however, like to clarify one important point. As soon as we became aware that we were unable to operate your tour, we contacted you by email to advise you of the cancellation. We also explained that this particular excursion was not suitable for cruise ship passengers due to the timing, which unfortunately meant we were unable to offer an alternative from our own schedule. We appreciate that email communication can be difficult while travelling, and we understand this contributed to the frustration. When you contacted us at the port, we suggested trying other local operators, as same-day availability is often offered at reduced rates rather than leaving vehicles unused. This is quite common on the island, and we're pleased you were able to find a suitable vehicle and still enjoy your day in Kefalonia. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. While situations like this are extremely rare, we take full responsibility for not being able to provide your tour and appreciate your acknowledgment that our owner reached out personally to apologize. We wish you and your family all the very best and hope you enjoyed the rest of your cruise.
We did the full day Assos and Fiscardo coach tour. Our guide Wendy and driver Dimitri were highly professional and well organised. The caves were a highlight and both villages were beautiful, although be prepared for crowds at Fiscardo if the ferries come in. The road winds up and down mountains so if you get travel sickness try and get a seat up the bus.

Very efficiently run. My mother and I were picked up by a new very nice mini bus with cream leather seats and taken to the main bus for our onward journey. We also met our English tour guide here called Wendy who is very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed the tour. The caves made it. So make sure you purchase your ten euro ticket on the bus for the boat into the cave. This tour was purchased via get your guide online before going on holiday
