Gemme tagliate fuori dalla roccia Non si può visitare la Slovenia senza visitare le Grotte di Postumia, la più grande grotta carsica in Slovenia con ben 24 km di fantastiche reti di gallerie, gallerie e sale. Iniziando con il treno elettrico che ti porta dentro, come nessun altro al mondo, quindi procedi per un tour a piedi. Non solo l'Inghilterra, ma anche la Slovenia ha il suo Robin Hood: Erazem of Predjama Castle era un "ladro di ladri" testardo e ribelle che rubava ai ricchi per dare ai poveri. Visita imprevedibile Castello di Predjama che regna arroccato su una scogliera verticale.

Il fiume Pivka ha scavato la grotta di Postumia per 2 milioni di anni. Il livello dell'acqua è cambiato nel tempo e ha creato un bellissimo mondo sotterraneo "multilivello" pieno di stalattiti, stalagmiti, colonne, tende e altre splendide forme è stato gradualmente creato come l'acqua stava lasciando strati di calcare dietro di sé. I primi visitatori presumibilmente arrivarono alla grotta già nel XIII secolo, ma le parti più belle della grotta furono scoperte nel 1818. Entrerete nella grotta in treno. Il viaggio in treno dura circa 10 minuti, per poi proseguire a piedi con una visita guidata. Passeggia sotto i sottili tubi trasparenti appesi al soffitto nella Hall of Tubes. Da sotto il Ponte Russo raggiungerete la Sala Concerti da dove potrete vedere il meraviglioso bianco Brilliant – uno spettacolo davvero mozzafiato. Nonostante il buio, nella grotta vivono circa 100 specie animali! L'attrazione principale è, naturalmente, il proteus, che in un primo momento è stato scambiato per un cucciolo di drago.
Prima della visita, fai una pausa sulla terrazza della locanda di campagna di fronte al misterioso castello di Predjama costruito nella roccia e goditi la sua vista mozzafiato. Il castello è costruito come una bocchetta inespugnabile, posta nella bocca spalancata di una caverna a metà di una scogliera di 123 m. Il castello ha grandi caratteristiche - fori nel soffitto della torre d'ingresso per versare olio bollente sugli intrusi, segrete profonde e umide, e un misterioso nascondiglio in cima chiamato Angolo di Erazem. Dopo una bella esperienza di mezza giornata torneremo a Lubiana. La consegna sarà nello stesso luogo del ritiro.

this "tour" was not exactly what we thought it was. The word tour indicates that there will be an interaction with the guide. He gave a few instructions, and then we were off. After the train ride, we got off and started walking. It was not a stroll, he was a extremely FAST walker, and did not stop once for any picture taking, which was disappointing. We are glad that we took the tour, but would have liked to take some pictures. Take the Vintner Gourge experience, it is amazing.
Great half day trip to one if the oldest cave near Ljubljana. Shirt ten minutes rides to Predjama castle was great too. Our guide Milan was great and explained lot of history about the town Ljubljana. Only thing is he drove us to both the locations and after that we were on our own. If you stay in Ljubljana I don’t think it’s worth paying someone to drive you to caves and castle. You can easily hired a taxi I guess to visit the place. This is my opinion, everyone has different comfort level when they travel. Highly recommend seeing Borge the places.
An excellently organised and delivered tour. We were met at 08:30 around the corner from our hotel (a hotel pick-up would have been available had we not been staying within a pedestrianised zone) where our courteous guide gave us information on the caves, castle and the history of Slovenia and its people on the way to our destinations. Although on booking there was a warning that the tour may be cancelled if there were insufficient numbers, there were only three of us in our party and no one else joined us so it turned out we had our own private transfer service which was great. Our guide explained that he would be able to do the trip in any order but due to the weather conditions advised to stick to the caves first as there was a chance of rain first thing which would pass by the time we got to the castle. We heeded his advice which definitely paid off as we avoided the rain whilst we went inside the caves and arrived to the castle in glorious sunshine. It was good touch that he was able to offer this flexibility on his own back to give us the best possible experience. Tickets were bought on our behalf by our guide who showed us the way towards the cave entrance. Here we joined several other tour groups and queued for the appropriate language. Whilst there was a considerable number of people for various languages, due to the staggered approach of getting people underground it did not feel crowded. After the train journey in, the tour was given at a good pace and allowed time to take in the caverns with about a 1-1.5 hour walk. The castle was also very impressive. Those expecting a lot of decorative items, furniture and the like should be aware that these are kind of sparse throughout, although there is a decent little armoury where you can have a go and lifting the unwieldy sized longswords. The main attraction comes from how the castle is set into the cave face and how features of the cave became both its strength and weakness. An audio guide is available and I found this to be very informative of its history. After our self-guided tour of the castle we met our guide once more in the car park where we were returned to the pick-up point around 13:50 after a very enjoyable half-day. A highly recommended tour.
The cave is an amazing wonder of nature. I thought this is just similar to the cave in Halong Bay of Vietnam but this is bigger and indeed the mother of all caves!The Prejama castle is also interesting. Don't expect treasures nor a lot of furnitures but what's interesting is the location of the castle and how it was built as part of the cave system. A must-see site in Slovenia
