The sights were beautiful but the group was too large. Our guide Bernadette did a good job and was very kind. We had a bilingual group so it was somewhat difficult for the guide to organize everyone and we felt it took away from the overall experience. The stop at Interlakken was our least favorite, but Grindelwald was amazing.
Dear Nancy, Thank you very much for joining our tour to Mount First departing from Lucerne, and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We regret to read that you found the group to be too large. As mentioned in our tour description, our tours are typically operated on 48-seater buses, and our guides are trained to assist all guests. We understand that managing a bilingual group can be challenging, and we will share your feedback with your tour guide so she can continue to improve her organization for future tours. In any case, we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour overall and appreciated your guide’s kind and professional service. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future for an equally memorable experience. Best regards, Clara from Best of Switzerland Tours
It was such an incredible experience ! My tour guy Gonzalo was amazing honestly I have a particular fear of highs and he helped me with it, he advised us to go do the tour of the mountain and my 90 years old grandma and my mom had a great time! Thank you for everything
This is a great tour to do and the company is super accommodating. We accidentally overslept, missing the bus we were supposed to get on for the tour. A few minutes after the time we were supposed to be there, we received a call from the company which is what woke us up. They asked if we were coming and we explained what happened. The company was nice enough to leave our tickets for the tour and the cable car to get there at the front desk, making it easily accessible and allowing us to continue our tour even though we missed the bus. Once we got to top of Europe we were able to meet up with the tour and finish off the tour. We were super grateful for Lars and his commentary on all of the history and information from top of Europe.
I felt there were way too many people on this tour. They dropped us off in Interlaken and just told us to be back by a certain time. There was no guided tour. Same with Grindelwald. They brought us to the cable car to the first walk but didn’t tell us our options of what to do there or suggestions of what to do in town. The bus ride was fine although it was so crowded I couldn’t get a seat with my husband. I felt it was too expensive for what we got.
Dear Joeli, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. As with other destinations in Switzerland, Mount First can be visited independently. Please note that a round trip from Lucerne to Grindelwald and Interlaken typically costs around CHF 122, with an additional CHF 72 for the mountain tickets. We believe our price is fair, considering the presence of a guide who facilitates ticket arrangements and manages the schedule. We also regret that you expected a guided tour in each village. We would like to clarify that this is a partially guided tour, meaning that guests are accompanied from Lucerne to Interlaken and Grindelwald, and back to Lucerne. In this case, the guide went above and beyond by accompanying the group up to Mount First. As stated in the tour description on Viator, guests enjoy leisure time in Grindelwald and Interlaken. However, our guides remain available for any questions or further information you may need. Regarding the seating arrangement, as we operate on a “first come, first served” basis, we regret that you could not sit next to your husband. In such situations, we recommend approaching the tour guide, as it is often possible to rearrange seating with the cooperation of fellow travelers. Despite these inconveniences, we hope you were able to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Berner Oberland region and the views from the Cliff Walk at Mount First. We hope to welcome you again in the future, perhaps on a tour that better aligns with your preferences. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours
Great tour - Grindelwald is beautiful - do the cable car - guides helpful as well - would definitely recommend
Great views and walkways and nice after having low/no visibility at Pilatis and Matterhorn. This was at end of trip and made up for the others. No one’s fault on others as we learned it rains 150 - 180 days / year so you never know.
Spectacular! Amazing! Lifetime experience! Must see and the organization was good. Informative and helpful with the tour guides. Book it!
Guides were outstanding, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We just finished a 12 day tour of Switzerland and decided to take one last excursion to grindewalde. So glad we did.. it was the best!
The views are second to none. You can just hang out the whole day and enjoy and relax. Describing the area doesn't do justice. You have to be there to experience. We stayed there overnight, our room had the best view ever, next to the Cliff walk. No private bathrooms, just shared but clean. It also includes free breakfast. The lake is about an hour hike which was nice.
The Adress they gave me its a different one. Yes its like 4 more minutes straight ahead. They should do an update to that.
