Faremo scalo a Luss annidato sulle rive del Loch Lomond come tappa finale prima di tornare alla nave
Faremo una breve sosta per sgranchirvi le gambe e scattare alcune foto di questa iconica e storica località: il più grande specchio d'acqua dolce interno della Gran Bretagna per superficie, e senza dubbio uno dei più panoramici. I servizi igienici gratuiti sono disponibili presso il parcheggio, se necessario.
Una popolare area di sosta delle Highlands circondata da viste panoramiche sulle montagne e aria fresca di campagna. Esplora il fornitissimo negozio di souvenir con prodotti locali e souvenir, o semplicemente goditi l'atmosfera tranquilla.
Una passeggiata pianeggiante di 10–15 minuti ti porta alle splendide rovine del castello di Kilchurn, sullo sfondo drammatico di Loch Awe. Tenete d'occhio pecore e montoni lungo il percorso! Per coloro che non vogliono unirsi alla passeggiata, si può comunque godere di una vista da lontano, visitare la vicina capanna regalo con arte locale, o rilassarsi accanto alle panchine da picnic vicino al parcheggio.
Qui hai la possibilità di partecipare a un tour a piedi dell'interno del castello (costo aggiuntivo), dove scoprirai affascinanti manufatti e storie del Clan Campbell, una delle famiglie più potenti della Scozia. Anche se si sceglie di non entrare, il parco del castello e l'esterno offrono un'esperienza perfetta da non perdere. Nota bene: il castello è chiuso il martedì e il mercoledì, ma il parco è comunque accessibile tramite una passeggiata panoramica di 800 metri dal punto di discesa, ideale per scattare foto e godersi la splendida cornice.
Prenditi del tempo per esplorare l'affascinante città sul lago di Inveraray, una sosta perfetta per il pranzo e una passeggiata. Great tour guide Sandra who even gave us her shortbread recipe! Lovely scenery with national parks, historic cemetery, and a castle. Totally recommend!
This Viator tour was very disappointing. The tour bus was a long walk from our cruise ship - in the pouring rain. There was no signage to show where the bus was. And there were no people at all to show us where to go. At least eight people were late to the bus due to this. When we arrived at what we thought might be the bus, the driver could not answer whether this was a Viator tour. We saw a Busy Bus sign at the top of the windshield halfway through the tour, but no one could see it when they needed to due to the rain. The guide was nowhere in sight. When he arrived late, he had no list of who were supposed to be on the tour, and he did not have names nor did he look at anyone's tickets. As a result, the tour guide was ready to leave several people behind until their friends and relatives told him they were expecting them. All of these people were late due to not knowing where the bus was. This was unacceptable! Also, this was a very long tour with eight hours of being on the bus - with very limited stops. The guide was knowledgeable. But he gave us too much detailed information during the ride - than anyone could possibly digest. The tour was also dampened because of the poor viewing due to the rain and very few and limited stops. In conclusion, this tour was not worth it!!!
This was our favorite excursion of the entire trip. Sandra was a fabulous guide - she gave us lots of information and she was friendly and fun. We got to see a lot of things in one day and did not feel rushed. This tour made me fall in love with Scotland.
We really enjoyed this large-group tour through this beautiful part of Scotland. Sandra was a terrific guide—and makes the best shortbread! We especially appreciated that she gave us options for how to spend our time at each stop. Although it was a large group, Sandra kept everything organized and managed the day extremely well. Great shopping opportunities!
This was a great tour. We were picked up and returned to the port in a timely manner. The operators spoke of the history of Scotland along the way.
First of all, we were led to believe that our transportation would be a 15 passage van allowing for a more individualized tour. We were herded onto a 40 passenger bus which was very uncomfortable. Our tour guide, Sandra, was very informative with much history of Scotland and the Highlands. Michael, our bus driver, was excellent in driving and parking accommodations. The tour was long with quite a few stops, some not too interesting. One couple, not part of our group, delayed our departure for over a half an hour because of their lack of courtesy! Overall, the tour was good, interesting and informative, yet our group of 12 would have much preferred the smaller transport as expected! We had expected a tour with more oriented for a smaller group and we didn’t not get that!
Fantastic experience. Pick up and drop off right at the cruise port. Everyone on our bus was from our ship. Tour operator waited as there was a slight delay disembarking. Saw old castles and heard about the history of the area. Found beautiful wool and cashmere sweaters in Inveraray. My husband and I both agree that this was our favorite shore excursion so far. Had lunch in a delightful local cafe. A relaxing day seeing the Scottish highlands.
What a great experience. Sandra the tour guide was awesome with lots of history knowledge. Mike the bus driver navigated very tight narrow roads. I highly suggest this tour.
It was a long day but so many beautiful places to see. The explanations were complete, questions were answered!
Sandra was a great tour guide! She provided us with special treats!!! The tour definitely gave us a good overview of the Scotland Highlands but, in my opinion, we had too little time at each stop but one. It felt as though we were always being rushed.
