Itinerario

This was a wonderful excursion with Viola. We were able to see so much in a short period of time. The beautiful Loch Lomand, the cute Green Welly shop which is a great place for souvenirs, the dramatic ruins of Kilchurn Castle, Inveraray, and the gorgeous views from Rest and be Thankful. Luss is a wonderful little town to walk through! Be aware that the beautiful Inveraray Castle is not open every day of the week. The scenery on this trip is lovely!
Our tour guide was not up to Viator’s usual standard. It made the entire experience feel like an overpriced van ride of the countryside. The microphone on the (16 passenger) van wasn’t working so if you were sitting toward the back of the van you could not hear her. (The microphone should have been checked before everyone on the tour was picked up) Additionally her accent was very strong which made it difficult to understand her. There was very little commentary about anything and when we arrived at our stops there was almost no information about the stop. Her directions about where to go, what to do and where to meet were extremely unclear. At one stop she told everyone to be back at 1:20. But 2 people asked if they could come back later and she said ok they could have til “1:30ish”—but never told the rest of us so we all waited on the van for 10 minutes (or longer as most people got back a bit before 1:20!). It felt as though she just made no real effort to see that we enjoyed the tour. The stops were nice (although we didn’t need 25 min at the Green Welly stop after being on the van for 55 min) and we enjoyed the castles and scenery. But the tour guide did nothing to enhance the experience.
The walk to the castle is on level ground. You are given enough time to get there and back to the bus without hurrying. Our tour guide (can't remember her name) was so good. She knew so much about the area and the history behind it. She even knew about the connection with the movie Brigadoon.
Good tour, a little more time at the castle ruins would be great. A little less time at the house tour stop
This tour was very disappointing. The bus was a long walk from our ship in the pouring rain. There was no signage to show where the bus was. And there were no people at all to show us where to go. At least eight people were late to the bus due to this. When we arrived at what we thought might be the bus, the driver could not answer whether this was a Viator tour. We saw a Busy Bus sign at the top of the windshield halfway through the tour, but no one could see it when they needed to due to the rain. The guide was nowhere in sight. When he arrived late, he had no list of who were supposed to be on the tour, and he did not have names nor did he look at anyone's tickets. As a result, the tour guide was ready to leave several people behind until their friends and relatives told him they were expecting them. All of these people were late too, to not knowing where the bus was. This was unacceptable! Also, this was a very long tour with eight hours, being on the bus with very limited stops. The guide was knowledgeable and gave us much more information during the ride than anyone could possibly digest, but it was dampened because of the poor viewing due to the rain and this limited stops. In conclusion, this tour was not worth it!!!
Greenock shore excursion was interesting. Viola was very knowledgeable and did talk with the entire tour. She knew a lot about the history and folklore. Our driver was Michael. At times his driving was a bit scary. There were a number of people who got motion sickness as a result. Hence the four stars instead of five. We have been on other Coach tours during our trip, but this one was a bit rough.
The tour guide was supposed to meet us just outside the cruise terminal but no one was there. We walked a good distance and t hen wandered through many tour busses looking for our bus which was in another section and had no markings except a small sign at the very top of the windshield which was invisible in the pouring rain. If it hadn't been for our friend who wouldn't let the bus leave - even though the guide said he was going to leave when we were 4 minutes late - and who got out of the bus to wave us down, we would have missed the tour. Another person got on the bus 5 minutes later who also hadn't been able to find our bus. The guide almost left passengers at two tour stops because he hadn't counted who was on the bus . VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, VIATOR! On the plus side, the guide provided good commentary about the history and geology of the area. Tour would have been beautiful if it hadn't rained all day, obscuring the gorgeous scenery. Be aware it rains 200 days a year in Greenoch.
It was a rainy day, our tour guide Richard covered every stops in detail. We had a good time. There was a little problem of 20 minutes late starting, we think the problem was Richard didn’t know how many people were joining the tour so he didn’t know how long he should wait.
There was a lot of confusion surrounding this tour. While there was someone at the terminal to greet us and direct passengers to the buses, when we arrived the driver seemed confused and was unaware that Viator had booked passengers onto this tour. He repeatedly stated that it was a BusyBus tour and not a Viator tour. Because of this confusion, many passengers were unsure if they were boarding the correct bus, which resulted in a delay of approximately one hour before departure. We were scheduled to have 1.5 hours in Inveraray. However, the bus first dropped passengers off at Inveraray Castle and then remained there for about 18 minutes before continuing into town. This significantly reduced our time in Inveraray, leaving us with barely enough time to have lunch before having to rush back to the bus. Overall, we were not overly impressed with this tour and felt that the organization and communication could have been much better.
A detailed view of the region with lots of stops in the countryside finishing with an educated drive through of glasgow.
