Great tour. Rain and strong winds forced a cancellation of our tour. We were offered a refund or rebook. We chose the rebook and two days later we did our tour. Crew was awesome. Haley kept everything organized and always checked to ensure we were enjoying the tour. Bradley added the entertainment to the trip. Both offered information during the snorkeling. Aaron was are determined captain of the vessel. You will drive about 1 1/2 hours to the first location. This spot is shallow and good for exploring. We saw two sharks, a nurse shark and a white tip reef shark. Amazing coral. You then have lunch as you travel to the second location, close by. If you’re traveling in winter, I’d recommend renting the wetsuit, the water was chilly.
I went on the full day reef tour and highly recommend it. We had ample time to enjoy the reef across two outings with lunch in between. Our guides were knowledgeable and did a great job pointing out the various fishes and other reef critters we encountered. My trip was in late June and the optional wetsuit rental was well worth it.
Saw plenty of sea life despite windy conditions.. Guides were all very informative and accomodating.
We had an amazing experience on our reef tour. As the weather was a little wet we did have to hire some wetsuits at a small cost. Our guides Hayley, Maree and Aaron looked after our every need, and were quick to help out with people needed it. Hayley and Maree took us out on the reef and stop regularly to point out and give us information on the fish, turtles and stingrays that we saw.
My son & I wanted a small group after recommendations. This did not disappoint. We were lucky as the group was only 11 people which made the actual guiding and getting in and out of the boat a lot easier. Jonelle (spelling?), Hayley and our skipper Aaron were super-freindly, helpful and genuine. They really made the trip memorable. Included was lunch, fresh fruit, snacks & water. We weren't rushed which made the day enjoyable. Highly recommend out of Cairns.
A day we will always remember. Worth every dollar. Hailey, Jo and Matt did an excellent job of looking after our family and keeping us safe. Very knowledgeable. Great balance between showing is around the reef and letting us explore the reef in our own. Shame that people leave a poor review because they can't swim. What were they expecting? Sorry the guides can't make the ocean perfectly calm. Our kids 7 and 10 had a great time and were in the water most of the sessions. They also loved the boat ride out and back from the reef. Thanks again to Hailey, Jo and Matt. May you never have to get proper jobs. You obviously love what you do and you do it so well.
This trip is really good and well organised. It is a smaller group of people and then three crew members. I had the pleasure of Marie, Hailey and Aaron and they were amazing. At least two of them were marine biologists and had so much knowledge about the fish, corals and reef. Two of the crew members are in the water when snorkeling where one leads and points stuff out and tells about what you see and the other makes sure everybody is okay. This way of doing it made me feel very safe in the water. It is also great that they have life jackets and noodles (floaties). Lunch is good considering it is on open waters. The photos we received were really good!
Haley, Joelle and Aaron were so brilliant. Super knowledgeable and organised and they took great care of anyone who was feeling sea sick. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
It is cool to say that we’ve snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef. Our snorkel guides did a great job of educating us and guiding us around the reef. They did so ethically to help protect and preserve the ecosystem. The reef was beautiful with a lot of coral and fish. We went out on a super rough weather day. The 1.5 hour boat ride out to the reef was very bumpy and a few people got seasick. Because the weather was super rough, the ocean was very rough. Like, leaning towards dangerous. We were surprised they didn’t cancel the trip. At one point we had to fight the current to avoid getting sucked under the boat when we got back from our first tour. At the second site, the ocean waves were much bigger and kept pushing us into some coral in the shallow sections. I imagine that this tour would’ve been much better on a calmer day. Although I am a strong swimmer (I was on the swim team for multiple years) I struggled swimming on this tour. You must be able to swim and if you go during the winter, you must be a strong swimmer.
Had a great time, Kaitlyn, Joe, and Harry were our crew, all very passionate and knowledgeable, one of the coolest experiences i’ve ever done.
