Il complesso del Palazzo Reale è stato istituito nel 1782 ed è costituito non solo da sale reali e del trono, ma anche da una serie di uffici governativi e dal rinomato Tempio del Buddha di Smeraldo. Si estende su una superficie di 218.000 metri quadrati ed è circondato da quattro mura, lunghe 1900 metri. Dopo che il re Rama I salì al trono nel 1782, il palazzo fu costruito. Prima di questo, il palazzo reale e il centro dell'amministrazione erano stati situati a Thonburi, sulla riva occidentale del fiume Chao Phraya. Per vari motivi, il nuovo re ritenne l'ex capitale inadatta e decise di fondare una nuova capitale sull'altra sponda del fiume. Per suo comando reale, fu costruito un palazzo per servire non solo come sua residenza, ma anche come sito di uffici amministrativi. Il complesso reale è conosciuto da allora come il Palazzo Reale. Awesome experience. If you are interested in the history of this site, I would definitely recommend the guide option. If I didn't have the guide, I never would of learned anything about this historical site.

I hired a guide who unfortunately didn't speak very good English, I hardly understood the explanation of the place, although she was kind. And the temple was beautiful.

Very prompt collection, unfortunately the collection time wasn't communicated, which meant we weren't waiting in the reception. Vehicle cleanliness and space very good.

Private transfer was on time, smooth and safe. It is the best to get a private transfers when you are for the first time in Bangkok. A driver was very polite.

I opted for this service, because wrangling kids out the door is hard enough. We paid about twice what the simple tickets would be. Our driver had trouble finding us even though we were standing outside the address I provided (and confirmed) and he wasn't particularly friendly. The person we were meeting to take is into the palace was late, so the driver had to drive around the block then told us to hurry and get out of the car (because it wasnt a stopping area). The lady who brought us inside rushed us through the front area, took a quick family picture then took off. Previous to this they had suggested we pay for a tour (up selling). Last, after I checked my phone again I see I had received several messages from the tour operator saying the driver couldn't find us and would wait "five more minutes". These were sent up to a half hour after we actually got into the car. Not really a good value for the money we spent.
